Josh Beckett (2-1, 2.89) vs. A.J. Burnett (3-3, 3.32).
It's the Battle of the Guys Who Were Really Good in 2007 & 2008! This morning Beckett helps determine whether this nine-game road trip against three of the worst teams in the NL is a winning or losing one (Dodgers are 4-4 so far).
The Dodgers have fallen into their old frustrating pattern of alternating wins and losses; they haven't won three straight since sweeping the Twins at the beginning of the month. Although League and Wilson seem to have stabilized the bullpen, the outfield situation remains tenuous. What the hell is going on with Matt Kemp?
And so here we are, at a rare time when the Kings are inarguably the best professional team in Los Angeles. The Dodgers have frustrated their fans by creating a cable channel most of us can't watch. The Lakers are, to put it mildly, in a state of transition. The Clippers are trying to shed their old baggage, which could take years.
But you know what they say: Winning cures all. Time to find a cure!

Hanley's leg is clearly worse than we thought. Kemp is apparently in the witness protection program.
It's a battle of two guys whose last names both start with B and end with two Ts. Should be a good one.
This season is officially going south, isn't it?
Go Kings!
What happened to Hanley's leg? Missed it.
@DB...Hanley was a very late scratch for yesterdays game. The report was that Stan Conti said mild discomfort in left calf, nothing to worry about. Seems that maybe that was an understatement.
I'll be in and out today. Got French Open and Indy 500 going on same time as Dodgers. Normally, Dodgers would be my main focus but they are depressing me.
Dusty: So...Butt vs. Butt?
épale everyone!
baseball is killing me :(
Justin Turner has as many HRs as Ethier!
@Dusty comforting thought :)
Thx for Hanley update. Heading to a bar that carries the Dodgers game - couldn't take it any more.
Épale, mofos!
Indy under red flag with only 8 laps to go. My guys, Helio Castroneves and Marco Andretti running 2nd and 3rd. After Dodger baseball of late, I'm not sure if I can handle this much excitement!!
possible career move: teaching people how to pronounce the double Rs
Ryan Hunter-Reay wins Indy barely over Castroneves and Andretti. Gotta slow my heart down so I can watch Dodgers. First American to win Indy since 2006.
Beckett with the something-something!
Six innings' worth!
Yasiel is just too good! Making a great early argument for MVP.
Beckett enters the seventh having thrown 90 pitches.
One out in the 7th!
Two out in the 7th!
On to the 8th!
MLB.com LIVE look-in!
Listening on the radio! Keep it up boys!
Steiner needs to quit talking. He's pissing me off.

Arruebarrena is slick!
we should keep Steiner quiet and silent

@Orel I prefer not to play around that
Stupid BART. Keep losing my internet!
Cmon Josh, you can do it!
Hersch hasn't said the words, but he's talking about it and he's a pitcher. Shut the fuck up guys!
Ask Darvish about losing it twice, only one out left
I'm actually excited about the Dodgers for once. What's happening???
the time of truth has arrived, ladies and gents
Here we go...
I love how the live look-in doesn't include watching our batters bat. Very generous of you, MLB.

@Orel yeah, I said the same thing
Whoever had Beckett in the no-hitter pool...on a rotation with Kershaw, Greinke and Ryu...collect your well-deserved winnings.
I will be GADAMMED, Joshua Effing Beckett.
he did against the Phillies, from all teams
Thank you, MLB Network!
Becks with the "shit" bomb in interview with Alanna. Too funny.
Wow! That was awesome. Thx to MLB Network for going live
Philly fans barely applauded. When I saw Martinez pitch his Perfecto at DS Dodgers fans gave him a huge standing O. Fuck you Philly fan.
Yep, keepin' it classy, Pennsylvania.
they did boo him when he took his time
Hey, I'm still amped!

Boos at AT&T Park as scoreboard flashes the news of Dodgers right-hander Josh Beckett's no-hitter in Philly.
Boston's announcers are homer assholes...including "Psycho". I no longer feel any remorse for the Dodgers dropping him.
You felt remorse in the first place?
Yeah, that was always a positive feature in my mind.
I never cared for him, he was annoying, but he was all down in the mouth about his being fired...I did feel bad for the guy. Not so much anymore.
I have to be fair here - the feed I was watching on TWC/SportsNetLA showed a lot of Phillies fans standing up and cheering for the no hitter. Everyone around us at the bar was noticing it. Not a Phillies apologist by any stretch, but from what I was watching they were into it and were respecting the moment.
That's the same impression I got, Dusty. At least from the fans on the field level.
Okay, that's enough being fair.
So what'd I miss?
Not much. PGTUP!
