Post-Game 39 Thread: Romo Collapses, Blows Save

Giants' Romo joins a long list of Romo fails. Get used to it.

GIANTS 7, DODGERS 4 (10)

Sergio Romo blew his first save of the year today, as the Dodgers handed it to him with an urgent two-run, game-tying Hanley Ramirez HR in the bottom of the ninth. This blown save rendered Giants starter Tim Hudson's effort irrelevant for the books. More stuff happened in this game from there, but Romo's total collapse on the mound today was definitely the story at Chavez Ravine.

Happy Mother's Day!

The game ended in a tie, but Dodgers were awarded an extra run for the sheer awesomeness of Hanley's home run and win 5-4.

And according to the trophy plaque, the 1982 Big Game score was Stanford 20, Cal 19.

Its only May but...this doesnt resemble a "team" yet. The whole four outfield fiasco is troublesome. Make a trade and have SVS as your #4. Joc is your injury call up. Play a consistent lineup. Win games. I'm out.

"You hate to say it's a matter of time, because we don't have time," Kershaw said. "We have to play better, with that sense-of-urgency thing. …You can control the way you go about it. You can control the way you play the game. The last few games it's sort of gotten better."

Sax's comment from the GT bears repeating:

"The Giants have six players at or below the mendoza line in today's lineup.

And we can't get 'em out."
