Post-Game 36 Thread: Deflated

GIANTS 3, DODGERS 1 (10)

Another extra-inning game. Another poor offensive showing (Hanley Ramirez and Adrian Gonzalez each 0-for-4; Matt Kemp 1-for-4 with 2 Ks; Juan Uribe 0-for-3 and leaves early with an injury). Another poor bullpen showing (J.P. Howell and Jamey Wright team up for 2 ER and 3 BB in the 10th inning). And another loss, dropping the Dodgers 3.5 games back.

Lost in tonight's debacle was a pretty good showing by Josh Beckett (6.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 3 BB and 4 Ks). It still goes up in the L column, however.

glad I bailed when I did
What's really frustrating (besides the anemic hitting), and it has to be for Donnie, is that Wright has been one of the more reliable guys in the pen lately (him and League). If it's not one thing, it's another.

But it's usually 2 things with us

Seriously. The problem with our pen is, you never know who is going to fail us on that day...and it's always someone. It's like we play russian roulette each night...

Russian Roulette, good analogy. It feels like we take two turns for every one turn our opponent takes

Which would be good in Dungeons and Dragons, or even Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign. But in baseball, not so much.
