The good news is that John Ely pitched five solid innings. The bad news is that in the sixth, he gave up a two-run homer to Nick Hundley, putting the Dodgers in an insurmountable 4-1 hole. Kenley Jansen and Lance Cormier came in with gas cans, and the Dodgers settle for two of three.
Aaron Harang was effective enough, allowing only three hits and two runs over six innings. The Dodger bats cooperated completely; only Matt Kemp (2-for-4, SB) and Tony Gwynn, Jr. (1-for-3, SB) really showed up.
