That's the first time I've read a haiku and thought to myself, "Hey, I'm glad I read that haiku".

Whoa, was Sax's writing just compared favorably to Gabriel García Márquez's? I think that's worth a sidebar link.
There are some parallels, Eric. Both stories are about love and waiting, with a happy ending.
That's true Karina. And Sax got the point across in a lot fewer words, and I didn't need a dictionary.
And, my haiku is in black and white, while my good friend Gabriel's (or "Gabby's", as we affectionately call him) is in cholera.
And Gabo doesn't write great puns...
