Manny Ramirez Is Nothing If Not Honest

"I want to see who is the highest bidder."
—Manny Ramirez, 2008

"It's not about the money."
—virtually every other free agent athlete ever

"Ramirez offered no encouragement to the fans," writes Bill Shaikin in the LA Times. That is, except for 17 HR and 53 RBI in the regular season and 4 HR and 10 RBI in the post-season. While it would be nice for Ramirez to throw Dodger fans a bone, he owes us nothing after giving us everything on the field. It is about the money for Manny, but it's not up to him who offers the most.

I see Manny's future: he'll be lazily jogging to catchable balls in the Bronx for years to come.

I don't want to see Manny's bone. Ever.
