In Arizona: The Cardinals' Kyle Lohse (13-6, 3.89) vs. the Snakes' Doug Davis (6-8, 4.59), 12.40p.
St. Louis, 5.5 games back of Milwaukee for the NL Wild Card, looks to take the rubber match against the Snakes, who are 1.5 games ahead of the Dodgers in the NL West race. Comment away!

Glaus with a homer to left.
Cards up 2-0 in the 3rd.
Former Dodger Cesar Izturis was on base for one of those runs! 2-0 going to the bottom of the fourth.
Hey Quad7, how were your seats last night?
The seats were awesome! I was told that someone spotted me on tv. I'm going to have to check my TIVO to see for myself.
The pregame food was excellent. Had a salad, some pasta, an italian sausage and of course some Gorden Biersh Marzen. During the game I grabbed some peanuts, cookies, frozen yogurt, another Marzen and spotted some celebs. Ginger Spice threw out the first pitch and was down in the seats. Lasorda and the McCourts were there as well. I also saw Dave Winfield in the Dugout Club. He is a big guy! It was a lot of fun, hopefully I'll get to do it again sometime.
And I got my Manny shirt last night too!
Lohse gets out of a bases-loaded jam without a scratch! End of the fourth, 2-0 Cards.
Wow, it's 100 degrees F there. Yikes.
Great that you go the Manny shirt. We saw Winfield on television too; were you sitting by him?
Drew doubled, but Eckstein ground. Way to go, Lohse!
Quad, that Manny shirt could be your next avatar.
3-0 St Louis, when Lohse DOUBLES the runner in from second!
3-0, middle of the sixth
Karina! How are you! Sorry we didn't get to chat last night while I spent most of the game getting to the other side
3-4-5 hitters to lead off the 6th for AZ
Men on first and second with two outs and Lohse straining with 103 pitches in the tank. Come on, Kyle...
In play, out(s)
Lohse gets out of yet another jam, getting Chris Young (who has GIDP as well as had a force out end a bases-loaded threat) to force Adam Dunn at third.
3-0 Cards, going to the seventh.
Do not worry, Steve. It's all right!, how are you?
So far, Andre Ethier and Kyle Lohse are my heroes today.
I didn't see where Winnfield was sitting. I happened to see him when I was coming back from the restrooms. Ginger Spice I saw before the game when I was eating.
I'll definitely be taking a new picture of me in the Manny shirt soon to use as an avatar.
McClellan is getting marshed out there, giving up a leadoff double and a walk. Right now, one away with two RISP for the ever-scrappy David Eckstein.
Quad, tell me that Ginger Spice still looks adorable.
I think my ranking is Ginger, Sporty, Baby, Posh, Scary.
Eckstein walks, rancho ardiendo, and Conor Jackson gets Arizona on the board with a one-RBI force out. 3-1 Cards, men at the corners.
Karina, what spanish phrase should we say for "men at the corners"?
Ron Villone replaces McClellan with two away and two on in the seventh.
Cards 3, D'backs 2, bot 7...
Villone promptly gives up a wild pitch to score a run, and then walks Adam Dunn. 3-2 Cards, two men on.
New pitcher, Jason Motte, looks like he hasn't pitched all year in the majors...
Reynolds got wrapped, end of the seventh 3-2 Cards.
"Hombres en las esquinas".
One of my nicknames when i was at school was Sporty Spice, but Ginger's hair rocks my world.
Ginger Spice still looks good. She wasn't showing off much last night though. Fairly covered up in a Dodgers jersey.
Did she throw the first pitch?
Schumaker Skipped to second base on a wild pitch, but little Cesar (1-for-5, 4 LOB) ended the frame.
3-2 going to bottom eight.
Motte gives up a leadoff hit.
I have a bad feeling the Cardinals won't be able to stagger across the finish line here.
Karina, they called you "Sporty Spice"?
I gotta get with your friends.
"Quando amor no es locura, no es amor."
Sorta sums up my spanish opinion of Los Dodgers.
And if you don't understand, go see Woody Allen's new flick with Penelope.
Majita rica!
They called me that way because i was always wearing sneakers. Very cool black sneakers. I went to a catholic school and girls weren't supposed to wear sneakers, so i spent lots of time in detention due to my refusal to wear another kind of shoes (those sneakers are around somewhere, if my mom hasn't thrown them away). If i wasn't wearing those sneakers, i had my chucks on.
I also was a decent soccer player. There was no girls' soccer team so i used to play with the boys. Plus my baseball, italian soccer, F1 and basketball love at the time, i'm white and have dark hair, there you go "sporty spice".
"Mamita rica".
"Cuando no hay amor no hay locura". Sigh.
I want to see that film, RIGHT NOW, are you talking about Vicky Barcelona?
Motte gets Augie Ojeda on a 10-pitch AB, and then gets out of the eighth with the score still 3-2 Cardinals!
Miguel Montero flied out at the first pitch. Nice.
Edit: cuando amor no es locura, no es amor.
That line sounds like the soundtrack Almodovar uses on his movies.
Yeah Karina. She did throw out the first pitch last night.
Karina, you're a rebel!
Si, senorita.
Vicky Christina Barcelona.
Go see it.
And apologies for my poor spelling in Spanish.
I'm much better in Spanglish, por que mi esposa esta una Chilena.
The Cards' bullpen is as bad as the D'backs'. Drew on third, one out.
ah shit
play (in runs). Arizona tied the game.
Conor Jackson ties it, 3-3.
AZ walks off. DAMMIT
SHIT! Dunn gets the game winning hit. AZ wins in the bottom of the ninth.
Chris Perez threw Adam Dunn three straight fastballs. What was he thinking?
Neeebs, one of my closest friends is chilean.
Orel, i'm only rebellious when i have a cause. For example, the uniform was dreadful and they wanted us to wear ugly moccasins... not even a chance i'd wear that!.
Well, Dodgers have to win tonight. They have to rely on themselves.
Ugly moccasins are definitely worth fighting against.
