With today's much-anticipated release of "My Best Friend's Girl", another Dane Cook vehicle that is sure to bring Oscar buzz, Cook is in the crazy--dare we say, hilariously awkward!--position as he "faces the ultimate test of friendship when his best friend hires him to take his ex-girlfriend (Hudson) out on a lousy date in order to make her realize how great her former boyfriend is." Madcap antics and screwball hijinks ensue! And why wouldn't they; Cook's character is named "Tank," for crying out loud! How much more funny can you get than that?!
Unfortunately for the Dodgers, however, there won't be many smiles out at Chavez Ravine tonight, and they know it. Call it The Dane Cook Dodgers Curse (TM). The fact of the matter is, the Dodgers have never won a home game on the opening day of a Dane Cook-acted movie. This is true for the opening day of every movie in which Cook has been listed as an "actor" (and we use this liberally); the Dodgers are 2-5 overall with both wins coming on the road; and with the Dodgers at home hosting the Giants tonight, well, let's just say the Dane Cook Dodgers Curse (TM) is almost too much to bear.

SoSG has tried to interview Dodger players about the Dane Cook Dodgers Curse (TM), but most of the players declined comment on the record (off the record, one of the players planned to see the 10a showing at Arclight, if anyone is interested in joining him). The only person who commented on the record was KABC broadcaster Charley Steiner, who said, "Dane Cook Dodgers Curse? Hogwash. The Dodgers are going to score 25 runs tonight and win the game handily."
To which we can only reply, "Good luck, Chuck."

Personally, I am more bothered that the Dodgers havent played on any of his 4 October release dates.
1) I hate Dane Cook, and now I hate him even more.
2) I can't believe he's been in that many movies.

As bad as Dane Cook is, he always seems to have good looking female counterparts in a lot of his movies.

I'd say the world is in a Dane Cook curse.
Personally, I think Dane Cook's star is fading pretty rapidly. A Dodger win tonight should finally put an end to him. As if a playoff berth and a chance to beat the Giants weren't enough to want the win.
