Hiroki Kuroda (7-10, 3.87) vs. Wade LeBlanc (MLB debut).
COMMENTS: Kudrow-da vs. LeBlanc? So no one told me the Dodgers' were gonna be this way! Eight losses, what a joke, post-season D.O.A. And then we got unstuck from second gear. And with four straight wins, with two this month, one thinks, "could this be our year?" Well, I'll be there in blue, when the bats hit some more. I'll be there in blue, like I've been there before. I'll be there in blue, if we don't play Andruw...
Dodgers enter tonight's game two games behind Arizona, following the Snakes' walk-off win this afternoon over St. Louis and its pathetic bullpen.

Blake batting fourth. Innnnnnteresting.
Friday's game is now a 710p start (rather than the traditional 740p Friday start).
LA is 6-5 vs SD this year.
Vin says Pierre is "okay."
Giles hits back to the box, Loney spears a line drive, and a two-out single is stranded by Gonzalez. On to the bottom of the first.
LeBlanc walks Martin on five pitches.
Kuroda only needed 9 piches in the first, but it seems they hit him pretty hard...
Ethier lines to left field. Come on, Manny!
It worries me they hit Kuroda hard.
LeBlanc gets Manny to ground out and Blake to K, so Martin is stranded at second. Booooo
Well, at least Ethier helped us take the pitch count up to 22 in the first inning.
Hey Karina, I haven't congratulated you on your new fashion gig. Do tell!
Leadoff single for the Pads in the second
Karina is starting an anti-moccasin campaign.
Thanks a lot. It's been fun...though my boss changed plans so i had to invent something on the last minute. It's going to be art-deco, inspired by the alphabet of Erte ( http://tinyurl.com/6cc8ea ). Tomorrow i'll pick up the clothes from the sponsors and i'll have to add some stuff from these friends of mine: http://oh-nena.blogspot.com/ . I'm worried about shoes...
I feel like a marginal character on the Devil Wears Prada. I feel very nervous too, what if i don't do that all right?. It's a very small magazine but it's something i can add to my portfolio. I'm learning a lot.
Orel, i swear those moccasins were hideous!
I'm not starting any anti-moccasins campaign. Only against the ugly ones.
Karina, I'll have to catch up on your fashion gig after I battle traffic. See ya!
Berroa doubled, son Martin singled!
Dodgers 1- Padres 0
Ethier singles. Martin on the 3rd, Ethier at 2nd. It looks it was a bad throw from the center fielder.
Martin forced out at home. Rancho ardiendo. King James at the plate.
King James flied out.
Kouzmanoff solo HR. Game tied.
Back to the gnome, eh Karina?
Erte alphabet looks cool. Good luck with that project...
Kouzmanoff solo HR, but then Josh Bard hits a two-out double to drive in two more runs. Kuroda does not look sharp at all.
And to think I just posted that Kuroda deserves better than his B- grade...
Kuroda gives up a double to the #8 hitter and a single to the pitcher. Bad news, Hiroki.
Thanks, Steve.
Gnome gnomes best. Nostradamus and Eric agree.
At least Kemp started the inning with a single.
DeWitt with the game-tying Bomb!
Angel Berroa with a home run? Are you kidding me?
Wow, that was unlikely.
Back to back homers by DeWitt and Berroa!
Dodgers 4- Padres 3
Hey, haven't you noticed Berroa has flashes of brilliance?
The whole dugout sits when Berroa comes back, and then they jump up and surprise him by flocking him, celebrating his home run (his first in two years!). Most surprisingly, the person orchestrating the "cold shoulder" routine was Mark Sweeney.
That may be the best thing Sweeney has done all year.
Berroa is so pumped, it is great to see his smiling face in the dugout!
4-3 Dodgers.
I remember when we all were hoping that DeWitt could hit for power.
Vin is so flustered by Berroa's HR, he almost (mistakenly) calls Martin's 4-3 groundout as out #3. Ethier up with two away in the fourth.
Forgot to say hello to you too, LoneyFan!
Ethier with the double. "There's the double that he needed last night," says Vin.
Pads IBB Manny for the second time tonight.
I haven't seen someone so feared at the plate since Bonds, back in his heyday.
Hey LoneyFan, are you over the hump yet with your finals?
Blake hits a single to score Ethier and advance Manny to third. 5-3 LA.
Hey Sax! Over the hump and in my new class right now 'Industry Analysis and Financial Reporting'. Thank God for Dodgers or my brain would melt with boredom. I sent you an email with some questions on how to get the pics to you. Did you get it?
Kouzmanoff had a shot at that Blake single, but it ricocheted off his glove.
LeBlanc has had 3-ball counts all night, it's really hurt him. Not that I feel bad about it.
Haven't seen the email yet; might be my firewall.
You can just attach them to the email, unless there are tons of them--pick your favorites! And thanks in advance, LF.
Sweet game so far, right?
Hi Loney fan.
Damn Loney! I'll try to send them over before I head home. Check your email before the end of the game.
Awesome game, hello to you Karina!
LoneyFan, just sent you two quick emails.
The guy in the green shirt telling me about the potential side effects of Cialis is scaring the hell out of me. And I don't even take Cialis. I'm not sure if he should be taking Cialis!
I take all the credit for Berroa's surge. A few days ago I criticized him on this board and he immediately responded.
Youre Welcome!
Why do you feel scared? any YouTube link?
I didn't know what Cialis was, till a couple of minutes ago.
Sax - tag, you're it.
That inning was a bit less exciting.
One out double here in the sixth...let's pull Kuroda now before this gets out of hand.
We have a day off tomorrow to rest the bullpen...
Bard gets a single and another RBI. 5-4 Dodgers, and even I can see that Kuroda is done. Take him out, Joe.
LoneyFan, thanks for the link...I'll try to see if I can do it, else I'll ask you to go for your best picks.
Kuroda hates winning if he is not the main reason for the win.
I have a bad feeling about Scott Proctor.
J/K Joe, I didn't know you were going to bring in Proctor. You can bring back Kuroda now.
Proctor = Shit Stain
Proctor < Danys Baez
Way to go S. Elbert
elbert with a leadoff walk. Hmm.
Let's hope he was just being too careful because it was Kouzmanoff
Wade enters for Elbert with one away in the seventh and a man on first.
Class is out, so I'm on the road listening to the rest of the game. Goodnight everyone. Sax - I'll try to send you an email with pics tonight.
Just after Vin mentions that Loney was holding Kouzmanoff on first too much, a ground ball goes in between the hole between first and second.
Thanks Loney Fan
blake with the insurance home run! 6-4 Dodgers in the seventh, mighty casey at the bat!
6-4 after seven frames
7-pitch inning for wade, nice!
Heath Bell enters the game for the Padres, and he laughs at Casey Blake's beard.
What is this, Dan Haggerty Tribute night?
Let's see how Broxton does tonight.
DeWitt Ks. One away.
Sweeney ready to mash.
Shallow outfield power!
Sweeney makes a appearance for his daily out. He is now batting .134.
Fly out to Manny for Broxton's out #1.
Shattered bat for Kouzmanoff, thrown out at first. Two away.
Five in a row!
DeWitt takes care of Gonzalez and we are done. Dodgers sweep the Padres and get back to .500! 1.5 games back of the Snakes.
Rest up, Dodgers...big series this weekend.
Manny translating for Angel on the post-game show!
I have a feeling Manny may be taking some liberties with his translation.
I was just about to comment the same, Orel. Unbelievable, that Manny guy. Love it!
That's one way to get Angel to speak English....
