Hiroki Kuroda (9-10, 3.84) vs. Tim Lincecum (17-5, 2.66).
COMMENTS: This is it, folks. Game 162. The last regular-season game of the year. The Dodgers' last tune-up before they take a breather and head into the playoffs on Wednesday against an opponent yet to be determined.
Honorary manager Nomar Garciaparra and his bench coach Mark Sweeney have decided to give catcher A.J. Ellis the first start of his career, according to Diamond Leung. Note to Nomar: Pull Kuroda after three innings, please.
Giants phenom Lincecum—already the holder of the San Francisco-era single-season strikeout record and the majors' leader in strikeouts—tries to bolster his Cy Young case today. It doesn't matter that he plays for the Giants; this kid is a pleasure to watch. We're just glad his start against us today is meaningless.
UPDATE:
Tanyon Sturtze is today's pitching coach, according to Dodger Thoughts.

I gotta say Sweeney really belongs to the bench. Nice decision, Mr. Garciaparra.
Beltran 2-run HR. Game tied at two, bottom of the 6th one out.
Sabathia is throwing a jewel, however the Brewers are down by one,top of the 7th.
We all need to thank Endy Chavez for robbing the Marlins a double, with a couple of runners on base.
Helms solo HR, off Schonweiss, top of the 8th.Marlins 3-Mets 2. No outs.
Cubs-Brewers tied at 1.
Uggla solo HR. Marlins 4-Mets 2. We have to rely on the Cubs, then...
Braun 2-run HR. This guy was hitting like Mark Sweeney in September. Cubs 1-Brewers 3.

mets down to their last three out. That giants pitcher is striking out everyone but we are up by one. Sweet.
Man on first for the mets
oops mets lost. Chicago here we come.
As much as i wanted the Mets face the Dodgers, that team doesn't deserve the playoffs.
It angers me the fact i couldn't watch the last Dodgers game in the season, 'till the Mets-Marlins game finishes.
Dammit, Mets! Now we face the Cubs. I am not hopeful.
Steve, don't lose any inch of hope. Remember playoffs is a new start (ye's i'm aware the Cubs have played with their bench for weeks now)
Young doubles, son Martin singles...
Roelingher robs King James, boy he hit well that ball! one out...
Dodgers end the regular losing against the hated ones. However, we were treated to a great catch by Kemp and two outstanding defensive plays courtesy of King James.
Karina, you've inspired me: Alex Cora and I are heading to the Stadium for the rally. Report and post to follow...
Alex Cora and I are here @ the stadium, and it's a madhouse. Crowd control was not taken into account and there are hordes of angry people trying to just move toward the seats...
What were they angry about?
Besides the stadium becoming a madhouse, did you have a good time over there? are there any pics?
glad i inspired you, Steve. Such an honor..
