Bonds in Fine Form

Sorry I'm late on this, but I had to add the article on yesterday's game between the Giants and Cubs, in which Barry Bonds lost two balls in the sun, both in the first inning.

"It's tough. If you can't see it, you can't see it," Bonds said. "You can see it off the bat, but you can't see it once it's in the sun. If it stays in there, you're just done."

Asked Monday whether he'd like to play next season if he's still healthy, Bonds responded, "sure." Bonds hedged a bit later in the interview, but it's clear he's not quite ready to step away.

"Let me get through '07 first," he said. "If I'm healthy, I'd consider coming back."

Let me repeat to Giants fans, "If it stays in there, you're just done."

The biggest surprise was that he still had any balls to lose.

Ahem.
