Post-Game 60 Thread: Dodgers Gift-Wrap Noesi First Win In Two Years

WHITE SOX 4, DODGERS 1

So many frustrating things about tonight's game. Dee Gordon going 0-for-4 in the leadoff spot, albeit getting the team's only RBI on a sacrifice fly. Andre Ethier in the two-hole going 0-for-5. Hanley Ramirez batting cleanup, 0-for-3. Adrian Gonzalez in the five-hole, protecting Hanley with an 0-for-4 outing. Four of our top five lineup slots produced 0-fers, an aggregate 0-for-16. Talk about a black hole. The Dodgers were 0-for-7 with RISP and had 12 LOB. And without the White Sox making three errors, the Dodgers had nowhere near enough to win (let alone score a second run).

Dan Haren's 4-0 start is a distant memory, going 6.0 IP but yielding 4 ER with 2 ER. Haren was thoroughly outpitched by the woeful Hector Noesi, who also went 6.0 IP but gave up 1 ER and got 6 Ks (Haren got only 2 Ks). The Giants got blown out in Cincinnati, but couldn't make up any ground because of the pure unadulterated suckitude. The only upside, I suppose, is that WGN's broadcast of the Chicago road game allowed crafty Los Angelenos to actually pick up the Dodgers on television. Not that you'd want to see this.

Wait, we got shut down by Belisario? Ouch.

Please move Dre out of the second spot. Our bats have been dead since Carl went down and Dre moved up. Let's change something, starting there.

I should check baseball reference, but I think you're right, FB

And get Hanley the hell out of the cleanup spot.

A-Gon is a classic cleanup hitter.

Until the return of Carl and/or Uribe, the lineup should probably be something like:

Kemp
Puig
Hanley
AGon
Ethier
Turner/Figgins
Gordon
Butera
Pitcher

6-8 are interchangeable.

Well said, DTB and Gnomes

I was going to argue Dee not batting leadoff, then I saw his OBP is .324.

Dee got on base a lot when Puig was batting behind him. Going back to that scenario would be my next choice, but I think they've made up their minds about never using Puig at #2 again.

...and Gordon/Puig are 1 and 2 today. Nice to be wrong.

I wish Donnie would comment once in a while instead of just lurking.
