Last night's 19 inning marathon between America's Team (The Pirates!) and America's Taint (The Braves) ended in spectacular fashion, with a tag out at the plate deemed unworthy. I think we all know who was officiating. And in his defense, he was trying to save the queen.

This is our hill, and these are OUR beans...
Pretty strong words (by MLB standards) from Pirates president Frank Coonelly:
"While we cannot begin to understand how Umpire Jerry Meals did not see the tag made by Michael McKenry three feet in front of home plate [...] He got this one wrong."
I believe an undisclosed fine will be arriving in his mailbox any minute now.
While on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette site, I stumbled across this story:
Military blimp crashes in Greene County
My first thought was, "wait, the military has blimps?" Then I read the story and my second thought was "aliens decided to land in Greene County, home of such scenic townships as Gump, Buzz and Kuhntown?"
Sometimes I miss living in Pittsburgh.
If the Pirates miss the division crown by one game - and right now, that's more than possible - hoo boy.
If the Pirates miss the division crown by one game but the Steelers are three weeks into the NFL season, does anyone notice?
