ESPN's Jim Caple compiles something he calls the Misery Index, in which he attempts to quantify the unhappiness quotient of the 30 current MLB cities (sorry, Expos fans). I won't spoil where Los Angeles fits in, but I guess I need to be looking on the bright side of life.

In reviewing the "Six Facets of Misery," I wonder what the difference between Recent/Historic Pain vs Recent/Historic Despair is?
