Can Game Of Thrones Substitute for Dodger Games?
Received a "nice" letter from Verizon stating that I am a valued Verizon customer, but will not be able to watch Dodger games because they "do not believe the fees sought by Time Warner Cable are fair or reasonable." So they recommend one of three ways to view Dodgers' games. 1. Watch nationally broadcast games on ESPN, Fox Sports 1 or Fox. 2. Subscribe to mlb.tv and watch the game On Demand 90 minutes after each game concludes. 3. Sign up for MLB Extra Innings for $156 and get mlb.tv for free. All of these are unacceptable options for Dodger fans. On the flip side, I get HBO for 3 months free and can probably cram all of the Game of Thrones episodes in before the trial ends. Winter is coming, but Dodger games aren't. Anyone else getting these pathetic letters?

Balls in your court Stan.
The really stupid thing is that I have Time Warner in New York and I can get SNLA if I have it added to my cable package (for like $5 extra a month). They won't show the games because of blackout rules but I could watch everything else, including pre and post game stuff. Not sure that's worth another $5 a month though
And, yes, TWC, please continue the string of commercials that puts it on us the fans to get SportsNet LA.
MLB tv works for me in my Turkish prison.
Did anybody catch our favorite NL West players nearly kill each other last night. On a close play and wild throw at first, Goldschmidt had an awesome clothesline on O-Pubes. I nearly fainted thinking about the possibility of those assholes taking each other out on the same play
And watch MLB go to a double first base, a la softball, to protect their precious Pubes another time
I just watched that clip, FB. On the replay, it looked like the softest baby hit, and they both sold it like they got shot.
So the son in the Turkish prison can watch the games but the son in the LA prison can't. Boo.
@FB
Wha-huh? So you can get SNLA on your TWC, but not watch the actual live televised games?
Insane. It's like, I have money, and I want to spend it, but you won't take it from me.
@FB. I agree with Dusty. That is crazy that TWC doesn't give it to you for free. Getting money wherever they can.
@AC and DB that all comes down to the stupid MLB blackout rules. I wish there was a way to get something like a TSA pre-approval that allowed me to watch the Dodgers in another team's TV market. It's not like a Dodgers game would prevent me from watching a Yankees game. I am not watching that either way so what's the difference?
It's nice to feel valued, isn't it?
