Post-Game 129 Thread: Damn You, Arash Markazi

RED SOX 4, DODGERS 2

Handicapped by a premature ejaculation by ESPN's Arash Markazi after the Dodgers' opening game victory (not to mention some unorthodox protocol from GT scribe SoSG Dusty Baker), the Dodgers folded early on Saturday and couldn't come back for the win.

Hyun-Jin Ryu yielded four runs in a difficult first inning, punctuated by a Jonny "Quest" Gomes three-run HR to left-center in the first inning. Ryu only lasted five innings and the other four were scoreless (5 H, 0 BB and 7 Ks), and five other Dodger pitchers combined to keep Boston at four runs.

Offensively, aside from Adrian Gonzalez' two-run, two-out double in the eighth, the Dodgers were pretty unlucky: three GIDPs, 1-for-6 with RISP, and only five hits on the entire day.

So maybe this whole Dodgers-Red Sox trade from last year isn't a slam dunk after all, eh Markazi? Maybe next time, ESPN won't be so quick to jump to any Arash conclusions.

Aha, I think I found the problem: PGT 128 didn't have the score to the game up at the top.

Need a win tonight. Phillies are rushing Halladay back from the DL against AZ today.

I think this GT from 2011 needs to be corrected, where Sax didn't label either starting pitcher.

@Dusty: however, that 2011 GT invoked the little-known Glenda rule

Regarding that Twins lineup, I don't know any of those ten players.

I know Willingham and Doumit, vaguely. Other than that - can you imagine paying to go see this rabble of shite on a Sunday afternoon?
