Zack Greinke (8-3, 3.43) vs. Adam Wainwright (13-6, 2.61).
The Cardinals are a great baseball organization, as many have chronicled, and one would think the Cardinals, 65-45 and 1.5 games out of first in the NL Central, would be a terrifying road opponent (even for a Dodgers team than has won 14 consecutive road wins). The Cardinals are heating up offensively in this short month of August. And starting Wainwright in the first game is about as tough a card as the Dodgers could pull; he's got a 3.02 ERA lifetime against us.
But it's not like the Dodgers haven't thrived here lately. Heck, even us Sons have had a great time watching the Dodgers at Busch Stadium.
And of course, given Stephen Fife's start yesterday in Chicago, Mattingly held back Greinke one day in order to let Zack go against a more formidable foe. But with Hanley Ramirez out due to a freak injury Sunday (not to mention possibly Yasiel Puig out due to a bruised left thumb; and Matt Kemp still on the DL), it sure doesn't look like a stacked lineup will be in the cards for the Dodgers tonight. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, indeed.

Puig and Dre looked like they were having an animated discussion...
Dodgers take a 2-1 lead. Should have been more, but I'll take it.
This is gonna be a tough game.
Greinke had Cards at the corners and none out and he gets out of it! Well done Zack!
Out of the jam. Need more runs.
Yeesh!
So why is the game on KCAL and ESPN? Because of TWC?
NICE!!
great inning, Zach!
Poonto with the double!
Sorry this is late, but that Puig to Punto to AJEllis play to end the inning with the tag at the plate was awesome.
2-1 Dodgers, Top 7
Zach with the RBI single!
Punto with a two-out double!

I'm caught up by not watching the We're The Millers ad
"Greinke hasn't walked anyone yet today" -- Eric Collins, right before Greinke issues a walk
Nice job, Eric

Gonzo makes a sweet play to keep the Cards from scoring two runs. Still two out, man on third, and Holliday up.
PUNTO with a sweet gun!
