The Cardinals' Carlos Martinez went quiet in the fifth inning, when with two out and Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig on base, he allowed a HR to A.J. Ellis, giving the Dodgers a 4-1 lead. One pitch later, Martinez quietly motioned about a hand cramp, and it was done. Marcel, Marceau it goes.
While Martinez, a recent call-up from Triple-A, was inefficient, Hyun-Jin Ryu was solid, going 7.0 IP with 0 ER (an unearned Cardinals run scored in the fourth off an Andre Ethier throwing error). Puig went 3-for-5, Carl Crawford and the aforementioned Ellis had multi-hit games, and the Dodgers went on for the 5-1 victory.
The win completed a 7-1 roadtrip for the Dodgers and set the team up for a tough three-game series against the Rays at home. Boy, I hope they can win this series with the Rays.

Even in my my optimistic mood, I never thought we'd go 7-1 on this trip.
