According to Jon Wiseman, that puts SVC and Jerry Hairston in competition for last bench spot for post-season. Doesnt bode well for SVC, though I'd take him over Hairston. Nice to have some sock on the bench for a change.

what roster move was made so that he could be on the roster before Sept?
Do they increase the number of bench players for the postseason? How many guys do we have - JHair, Punto, FedEx, Shoe, Young. Thats a lot of mouths to feed.
Then you have a half-way house of rehab guys in the bullpen with Marmol, League, Volqez, Wilson.
That's a shitload players.
