Post-Game 89 Thread: Oh Ricky, You're So Fine

I confess this song is indeed horrible, but I'm desperate to get this done quickly.

DODGERS 6, DIAMONDBACKS 1

Ricky Nolasco had an outstanding Dodger debut: 7.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB and 5 Ks...and two hits (including a double) as well as a run scored and an RBI.

Ian Kennedy was indeed the weak sauce we predicted: 5.2 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 3 BB and 2 Ks. A throwing error from catcher Miguel Montero in the fourth, plus a fielding error by center fielder Adam Eaton, didn't help Kennedy any (both events led to Dodgers runs), but that's what you get when you plunk Hanley Ramirez in the first inning (Ramirez went 0-for-4 and ended his hitting streak at 19).

Carl Crawford got a hit (a bunt sacrifice-turned-single) and scored two runs.Yasiel Puig went 1-for-3 with 2 walks, one of which was sweet as he clearly wasn't biting on the bait Kennedy had left out there. Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with 3 RBI. Andre Ethier went 2-for-4 with a run scored; Skip Schumaker upped Ethier by going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Dodgers pull to 2.5 GB of the first-place Diamondbacks, and one game below .500.

I was still looking for an image on the internet that had a tennis scoreboard showing 6-1, 6-1.

Padres beat Rockies, 2-1

Mets and Giants knotted at 5 in the top of the eighth. Wild pitch by Jeremy Affeldt allows Omar Quintanilla to advance to third and Juan Lagares to advance to second. One out.

Eric Young walks. Dan Murphy coming to the plate for the Mets.

Rancho Ardiendo for Marlon Byrd. 6-5 Mets.

Affeldt getting squeezed. First three pitches called balls but could have easily been strikes. I like it.

Steve Sax said...

@Dusty, this is the closest I could find.

In comes Jake Dunning. He's been pretty nails for the Giants: 1.35 ERA with 13.1 IP under his belt (11 Ks).

First pitch swinging, Byrd in play, run(s)

@Sax

I'd actually downloaded an app that allows one to keep tennis score, so I was going to program it to show the set scores and then take a screenshot of that. That's as far as I got. #AforEffort

Marlon Byrd takes the first pitch, a 78 MPH slider down the middle, and he hits a GRAND SLAM TO LEFT

Crown Vic just went Yard for Boston to give them a 9-7 lead in Seattle.

Dusty Baker said...

You outdid yourself that time, Sax. Well played.

Giants are losing again? That's a shame.

Dylan Hernandrz has Belli saying the feud w Dbags isn't over bc he hit Montero accidentally, so revenge is still coming. Nice!

It took forever to figure out why Dad retweeted my stupid CP GREESHIN lineup joke, then I remembered what he used to endorse.

Well played all around.

Hideo Nomo said...

Uh, GREESHN, that is.

BTW I was mistaken about Milano tweeting re the Vin transcript. Someone had Tweeted it and included her in a way that looked like she had Tweeted it, at first glance.
