Hyun-Jin Ryu (7-3, 3.09) vs. Josh Johnson (1-5, 5.16).
Thanks to the Toronto Star for this tidbit: "This will be the first meeting between the Jays and Dodgers since 2007. The franchises have met just 12 times, splitting the all-time series six games apiece." The Dodgers, fresh off mowing through the heart of the Nats' rotation, are streaking; the Blue Jays, who were just swept by the Rays, are in last place in the AL East.
Dodger fans are wondering who will be starting in centre field at Rogers Centre. Is Matt Kemp's ankle injury minor or major? Will Yasiel Puig come out swinging after a day on the bench? Has Juan Uribe discovered Tim Hortons?
UPDATE 1:58p (Sax): Kemp is indeed out today: "Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, who sprained his left ankle Sunday, was not in the starting lineup Monday night vs. the Blue Jays. Kemp was replaced in center field by Yasiel Puig."

It looks like he's going Ace over teakettle.
Bill Plunkett @billplunkettocr 19m

Oh, and if you haven't seen what happened to Jose Reyes over the weekend, make sure to look here.
(Get ready to double over and groan, btw.)
We've had some pretty piss-poor commenting over the last three games since the break, boys and girls. Let's get snarking again!
We're opening up the SoSG taps early...
Kemp gets injured more than the SoSG softball team and doesn't get the fun of the buzz.
gotta keep pitching
anyone else notice the rare 7:07pm start time? Leave it to the Canadians
the game was scheduled through their public healthcare system, was originally supposed to start at 1:05
IN OTHER NEWS, MATT KEMP WAS THE FUCKING 2011 MVP.
Oh, you realize NOW you've "made some mistakes," Ryan Braun?
Liar, Liar, pants on fire. Ryan Braun is a piece of shit. I know it doesn't rhyme, but I still like it.
Let's break down the bullshit here, since I don't want to waste a post on this asshole.
As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect.
You did? When?
I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions.
Again, you realize NOW? After you've been busted?
This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it is has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization.
Don't ya love it when the perpetrator talks like the victim?
I am very grateful for the support I have received from players, ownership and the fans in Milwaukee and around the country.
I'm sure they feel GREAT right now.
Finally, I wish to apologize to anyone I may have disappointed - all of the baseball fans especially those in Milwaukee, the great Brewers organization, and my teammates.
IF you were disappointed, THEN I apologize, otherwise I don't give a shit.
I am glad to have this matter behind me once and for all, and I cannot wait to get back to the game I love.
Yes, again, so sorry we bothered you with this matter, you fucking cheater.
If we are taking away trophies can we take the 2012 Melky Giants crown?
Ryan how about apologizing to the guy whose professional character you called into question last year with your tainted test story.
Probably too soon for the Brewers to hold a jersey exchange huh?
Braun makes Hernandez look like an upstanding citizen. Good job summing up my feelings, Nomo.
@BJ, nice poem!
Ryan Braun's quotes from 2012:

I'm done ranting. Let's talk Dodgers:
Mark @PA_Dodger 26m
I just watched the laser show that is Yasiel Puig hitting BP for the first time. He made the Rogers Centre look like a little league park.
No pre game on tv till 4.. Where are Monday and Steiner on MLB gameday radio???
I was early, they just showed up.
HardballTalk @HardballTalk 24s
Matt Kemp to undergo precautionary X-rays on ankle http://dlvr.it/3hXcL4 #mlb #hbt
Dodgers medical staff has confirmed that Matt Kemp does indeed have an ankle. Two of them, in fact.
And just like that, two out.
Groundout, groundout, K. Oh well.
Wow. Lookit all dem Ryu fans!
Backward play. I love it
This crowd is gonna be fun to watch!
Two hits, no damage. Melky didn't help the pitch count, though.
Whoo! AJ!
Uribe gets bonked
and stays in the game
MEllis with the dunker, 1st and 2nd, 2 outs
Ryan Braun, unbelievable.
CC with the laser up the middle, Uribe "speeds" home, MEllis gets to 3rd on the throw
Carl Crawford sighting!
Puig RBI single, following Crawdaddy! Both hit up the middle.
4-0 LA, T2 2 out
Puig with the single up the middle! MEllis scores, 4-0 good guys
half-DAMMIT!
AG takes 4 away, Hanley bats again this inning
Los Angeles Dodgers @Dodgers 38s
Yasiel Puig follows CC to the tittle, straight up the middle. An RBI single and the #Dodgers lead 4-0.
I had to wikipedia "tittle"
Hanely fouls it off his leg, crumples at the plate.
Not. Again.
Hanley crushes his leg with a foul
Ramirez is still up tehre with a 2-2 count, but he looks pretty gimpy
now off the foot
i hope those fouls don't cool him off
Hanley grounds out to short for the force at second.
4-0 Dodgers, mid-2
good inning, fellas
stay healthy, Hanley
53 comments through 1.5 innings pitched. THAT'S the snark we know and love!
Garza to Rangers for prospects: After zeroing in on Matt Garza for a few days, the Texas Rangers acquired him from the Chicago Cubs on Monday for prospects Mike Olt and C.J. Edwards, right-hander Justin Grimm, and a player to be named later.
we may need more than 4 tonight
Does Toronto still play on old Astroturf?
Did the ball always fly out of Skydome or did that happen in recent years?
Or did the Jays just sign a lot of boppers around Batista?
3-pitch K
Nice pickup, Hanley!
Wish I could read lips. Lawrie said something like "always fucking stopping..." Didn't get the last word. Hahaha
@ FB
yes,yes and yes
shit. i sign in and Dre greets me with a strike out. i'm bad luck.
wait. gameday is a fucking mess still like before. it's 4-0 right.
Dre with another double
4-0, yes, Dre just hit a double to right
Dre double confirmed
attaboy, AJ!
@spank - why can't you watch the games again? KCAL not in your area and Prime isn't on your cable system? You get SD games, right?
pitch through the 5-hole moves AJ to second
5-0 Dodgers, none out in the third. Ethier doubled to right and AJEllis knocked him in with a single.
AJ took second on a WP.
Josh Johnson is not having a good day
Johnson is punishing his catcher with balls in the dirt
Schumaker reaches first on catcher's interference (bat hits the catcher's glove). AJEllis takes third.
Josh Johnson's night is over. 2.0 IP.
Pulled in the third. Ouch
and now Arecibia gets caught with interference, Skip safe at first
Running the pitcher nice!
Loup getting squeezed
Uribe unlucky with that liner to second
Loup comes in and gets Uribe and Mellis out.
Aaron Loup pitching to Crawford
@spank that sucks. blackout rules suck a donkey D
Loup has a really weird lefthanded sidearmy delivery
AJellis still stuck at second, Schumaker at first (sorry, i thought AJellis had taken third base earlier, but I guess I was drunk)
Crawford shot up the middle, Loup deflects it but no play could be made.
Rancho ardiendo!
Puig flails painfully on the first pitch
And the second pitch
both were waaaaaay outside
rancho puigiendo
And the third pitch.
Yasiel, that was very ugly.
Leaves 'em loaded, but it's 5-0 LA through 2.5 IP.
yowsa.
whelp
That was Pugly...
Crawford with a sweet catch there running into the left field wall right after the catch. NICE
nice catch, CC!
60-day DL tomorrow?
Uribe comes over and grabs a ball away from Hanley, then throws a strike right in the dirt to A-Gon, who adeptly picks it out of the dirt and saves Uribe's (large) ass.
two out
shit. todays game is free on MLB TV. damn missed all the early run fun.
Whoops, spoke too soon. Next ball is hit to Hanley Ramirez, who makes a sweet spin move but fires wide of A-Gon. Encarnacion is on first.
damn, that was nearly amazing
throw strikes, kid
Encarnacion scores on a hit up the middle that Puig launches way high (but sort of on the mark).
5-1, two out, Blue Jays on first and second with Mark Derosa up.
crazy throw by puig
cheater singles up the middle to score a run
finish this off
Ryu is sweaty right now
Schumaker can't squeeze the fly ball in right...one run scores. 5-2 LA.
shoulda caught that, Skip
come on guys. keep it together.
whew.
Ryu gets Colby on the high CHEESE (get it?), for the K.
5-2 LA through 3.
This isn't the NL West boys. Gotta score more runs.
attaboy
Hanley is so silky smooth. He strokes one to left and all Melky Cabrera can do, besides take steroids, is watch it bounce off the wall. It's only a long single, however.
Dodgers at the corners with none out.
Come on Dre!
I am so gunshy towards injuries right now. Seeing Hanley flex his chicken wing there at first terrifies me
got one run back
Ethier GIDPs but scores a run. It's like the May 2013 Dodgers all over again.
Reyes has a pretty violent swing; it's Puig-like
Reyes hits into a 6-4-3 GIDP, thanks to a quick catch and release by Mark Ellis
6-2 LA through 4
Blue Jays announcers degrading Blue Jays defense. Good to hear non homer announcers.
Feels like we should have more than 6
Leadoff walk for Hanley in the sixth.
wow. 4 rbi's for Ajellis.
7-2 Doyers
AJ keeps knocking people home.
(I got busy with work which is why I haven't commented)
Rancho Uribiendo
rancho ardiendo for Urine
9-2 LA on sacrifices by Urine and Mehllis
10-2 Dodgers here in the sixth. Just rolling along. Crawford with another hit and RBI!
Crawdude drives in another run with a single.
10-2
Dayum!
We're hunting birds!

7. Carl Crawford singles on a sharp ground ball to center fielder Colby Rasmus. Skip Schumaker scores.
Puig now up with Crawford on first.
I don't think they're going to send Crawford here
Puig with another K.
Crawford, now 3-for-5 with 2 RBI
10-2 LA through 5.5 IP
Miami 3, Colorado 0, Top 3
Milwaukee 2, San Diego 1, B4
Cubs @ Arizona, warming up
Cincy @ Seagullville, later
Tonight's trivia: In addition to Toronto, what other expansion team joined MLB in 1977?
Answer: Seattle Mariners
(I knew that one)
Schumaker actually holds on to a fly ball to right. 1 out, men on first and second with Ryu at 102 pitches.
Ryu is done. 5.1 IP.
Skydome Korean fans going nuts.
Any of you guys having slow internet issues?
Ryu: 5.1 IP, 9 H, 2 ER (but the two men on base are his), 3 Ks, 2 BB.
Not sure why Hanley didn't go for the lead runner, Melky Cabrera, at third there. Jays have RA now with one out.
Jose Dominguez in for the Dodgers.
Uribe nice play, gets the force at second, but Cabrera scores. 10-3 LA, two out, B6.
Jays at the corners.
i'm having issues with streaming the game but it's my laptop not the net.
Ball gets away from AJEllis, Rasmus scores.
damn two runs score for the Jays as i play musical browsers.
Ellis grabs the foul out for the final out. Dominguez looks like he twisted an ankle or something.
Great.
Chrome is slow for me today....
Dominguez hurt himself?
we're gonna need more than 10
HanRam bringing the hustle.
5 rbi's for Ajellis
Skip with a 3 run dinger!
goddamn!
Whoo Schumaker!!!!
14-4 LA
Well this is awesome.
Like watching a little league game. Nice job Shumy
i can get used to all this run scorage.
Schumaker's HR--a three-run shot and his first as a Dodger--was his first HR since 9/13/12
14-4 Dodgers through 6.5 IP
That Skydome astroturf looks horrific
I had an exchange rate joke all ready to go, but Eric Stephen beat me to it.
League alert time.
Boy these days you WANT league to pitch because you then know we are up by at least 7 runs
Darren Oliver onto pitch from the Jays
He's he last remaining player that played against Psycho Lyons.
@Gnomes: You and Eric Stephen are just loony
Oh, I get it! You think Jack's going to send a picture of something else besides a sandwich!
That's funny.
Don't use up all the runs today, Dodgers
14-4, B8
Puig would have caught both of those
unreal
when is he going to hurt himself for real?
Amazing catch by Puig there in center, against the wall--audio lost by KCAL's flash flood warning
14-5 Dodgers though
Puig, busting scoreboards all over the league.
Ken Tremendous @KenTremendous 2m
The sincere contrition Braun showed the second time he was caught is matched only by his righteous indignation the first time he was caught.
Puig catch:
http://wapc.mlb.com/play/?content_id=29040361&c_id=la
He runs into walls, but the last couple times, he's braced himself for it. I'm still concerned, but at least he's aware of where the wall is and tries to prepare himself for it.
cmon, Chris, finish this off
Puig needs to run into something on every play, says it makes him feel alive
Thole was so behind that pitch, he struck out tomorrow
14-5, man on first, two out
Withrow hurling here. 0-2 count to Adam Lind
Now a 2-2 count.
great recovery, Chris
great win
let's hope the Cubbies can muster something tonight
Strikeout swinging!
Game over.that's a wrap and that's a wrap for me. Ciao,folks.
laters, Spanx
