Ricky Nolasco (5-8, 3.85) vs. Ian Kennedy (3-4, 5.16).
Tonight, Ricky Nolasco makes his Dodgers debut. According to David Vassegh of the MLB Network, Nolasco will have 20-25 family members in the crowd for his Dodger debut. Nolasco is thrilled to be pitching for his hometown team; he loved watching Ramon Martinez and Chan Ho Park pitch growing up, and according to Vassegh, Nolasco was named "Enrique" because of his father's love of Rick Monday. (Clearly, Nolasco's father keeps track of the score on his own when listening to Rick Monday radio broadcast games.) Nolasco pitched against the Diamondbacks this season for Miami on May 19, and held them to one run and five hits over 8.0 IP, earning the win as well as notching 11 Ks (his season high). Nolasco is 6-2 with a 4.41 ERA lifetime against the Snakes. In fact, one could definitely call Nolasco "spicy"; he's off to his second-best season in his eight-year career, from an ERA and ERA+ perspective.
Kennedy? Since his role in the June 11 brawl, and subsequent 10-game suspension, he hasn't seen the Dodgers again. Kennedy is 0-1 against the Dodgers this year in two starts; he's 5-3 against Los Angeles with a 3.77 ERA lifetime. But more importantly, Kennedy is weak sauce.
So there you have it, a tale of two sauces today at Chase Field.

Dilemma: I have Ian Kennedy on my fantasy team. He has sucked a lot this season, but has shown flashes of okay-ness. Do I start him today? Do I expect the Dodgers good-hitting to continue?
I'm currently benching him today. I expect him to suck. I want him to suck. And the Dodgers are hitting well. Am I doing the right hting?
Sax is on a posting streak!
You did the right thing, Mr. F.
Thanks, Orel.
Gotta keep pitching
@Mr F: I picture you orating your dilemma at a tea party with smonk and that white bear, with both stuffed animals looking at you with smiling, silent approval
The tea I drink with Smonk and the white bear is my own business!!!!!!
Also, the white bear has a name, but it's derived from my actual name, so I'd rather not reveal it.
Mr. Bear?
Like a good journalist, Sax doesn't give up his sauces.
I've said too much!!!!
Ain't no tea party like a Mr. F tea party.
I want to read Mr. F's tea leaves.
I want to smoke PJ's "tea" leaves.
Last person to smoke those tea leaves was Stubbs and he is still wandering the streets claiming to be President Andrew Jackson.
I heard was found doing a guest lecture at Villanova.
"Dad" doing his part for the Puig campaign.

I love how this has turned into a mr f GT
Saucy!
Loved seeing Kid K and boyz singing and dancing on the Think Blue pre-game show.
EK rocking a Saucy look tonite.

I'm pulling up my chair, Vin.
The Puigster gets a solid hit off the Bean Ball pitcher.
Just another Puig hit.
Kennedy hits another Dodger.
Kennedy plugs HanRam.
Fucking asshole.
I'm glad you benched him, Mr. F.
fuck that Gillette Fusion ProGlide motherfucker
Stupid Kennedy. Now if Slick Rick even comes close to throwing inside, there's a chance he gets chucked
@FB--I was thinking the same thing. Kennedy is pretty slick throwing at us right away. I can't wait for the retaliation, whenever it comes.
Ricky's beard is well-groomed too
Did the ump warn the pitchers?
@Orel--No warning.
does Ricky have a pierced nipple?
or is it cold there in Arizona?
woof - pulled the string on that one
Skip you bum get that number off your back. It's sacred!
Matt Guerrier wore it so well
hehe Vin you are great
bad luck devil jump-up for Jerry
attaboy Ricky!!!
Does Ricky think he's still in Miami? It looks like he's sweat through his jersey already
Crawford still not well, flies meekly to center. He needs to take a few more pitches
but 1-0 good guys after the Unesco RBI single
nice grab, Skip!
Montero kind of looks like Ray Liotta, but with less-crazy eyes
good job, AG
thank you, Tim McClelland!
good inning, Ricky
torture post
Hanley battles but eventually succumbs, 1-2-3 inning
Why aren't we hitting some mofos?
stop squeezing us, blue
Okay: been casting votes for Puig. Going to the Tigers game tomorrow. Crap seats but they're free. May not make it thru Dodgers game, so this is my wish list:
1. Beat these dirtbags
2. Go vote more for Puig
3. Nolasco hits a HR
4. Kennedy blows out his elbow.
Based on a sample size of 2 2/3 scoreless innings, I'm ready to call this trade a huge success.
great recovery, Ricky, 2 popups after the bunt
Based on a small head size, Zack Greinke has a tiny head.
D'backs not exactly flashing the stellar D there. Ethier advances to third on Montero's throw into center.
yeesh Dre was lucky twice
Kennedy at 65 pitches so far.
Gift run!
i don't like that call by Donnie. Don't make AJ feel like he has to swing
I don't want Kennedy to get knocked out yet bc I want someone to hit him.
Assassinate Kennedy, if you will.
i'll take it!
Kennedy's used 69 pitches through four innings.
Jerry's unlucky tonight
It hurts my heart to hear Vin call him "Goldie."
I know that the talk is that the Dodgers are more interested in first place right now then smacking Kennedy but I want both. I would like first and also a shot to the face of Kennedy.
What happens when Franklin Stubbs stubs his toe?
Ricky don't lose that number.
I want us to be in first place in the plunking Kennedy in the head contest.
In my non-recommending throwing at Kennedy time tonight, I'm just sitting here voting puigPuigPUIG!!!
I am señor Nolasco. I drink my milk with Tabasco.
Cc:Spanky
Giants up 2-0, top 3
Have the Giants been designated for assignment yet?
Did Tabasco take Louis Screws' number? That's bad karma, Mitch Poole!
Halfway to the cycle!
Tabasco double!!! We see you, Ricky!
He looked out on regular speed. But I'll take it.
Uribe is halfway through a double-double.
No clearly safe. I need more beer.
Slick Rick the Ruler!
nice way to get off the schneid, Carl!
Jack this fucker Puig.
Right on, Puig - don't take that outside bait.
I'm really likin this new guy...
Kennedy sweating like Nixon.
Dodgers shaming Kennedy.
How very cool.
Rancho
Rancho Adriendo.
good AB, Yas
The Shaming of the True
Oh man a bookend of stupid.
WTF is Puig doing there?
That was...unconventional.
"Big Man" Adam Eaton!!
Puig is an idiot
What happened?!?!?!?
If Puig isn't an idiot, he likely scores on that HanRam fly ball.
oh man what a crazy play
what the HELL was Puig doing?
Dodger players are going to need to pull Puig aside and let him know that some of those things he's doing is putting them (and him) at risk of getting plunked or spiked or otherwise retaliated against.
Someone needs to teach YP the game of baseball if he wants to be the complete package.
Kennedy has earned his bad juju karma.
This is a high crimes and misdemeanors inning.
Puig didn't wait long enough for Didi to throw it in. If he had waited just a second, Didi would have thrown to an infielder
High crimes with Miss Demeaner was a number 1 Flaming Menudos hit album.
Could of sunk Kennedy's car that inning.
hmm
feels like we should be up by more than 4
Chapiquidek (sp)
@Neeebs
Is that the one that came with a free pig in a scarf.
Kennedy would have let Eaton drown in it
No that was the scratch n sniff cover
You're think of Kosher Klown
Dammit Jerry. Free Willy! I mean Uribe!
Alyssa Milano tweeted a link to the Vin transcript we posted re: batting out of order - wow!
Looky here. DP.
I hear she killed Pedro. You know heart attack.
holy damn, room service DP there
And further...I dislike the Puig cocky fly ball catch.
Alyssa?! oh baby
*tucks in shirt*
*sucks in gut*
*flexes a little*
Nigh Mets just tied the gnats. 2-2
attaboy, Skip
@Neeebs me too. I fear the impending comeuppance. No doubt it'll be harsh
Good bunt, Rique
Mets take the lead. 3-2
Yup.
Puig play at the plate GIF posted!
are you guys getting weird screen blips and bloops? or is that MLB.tv?
That's Coco Loco adjusting your rabbit ears on the roof.
High heat coming up.
Kennedy slurring his pitches.
I didn't notice until now the Dikembe "no no no" that Montero gave Puig
It seems impossible to separate Puig's attitude from his talent.
I guess Montero did a finger wag at Puig after the out. So fuck it.
Puig's had a ton of success in such a short time. Maybe missing the ASG would do him some good.
Dammit!
I'd put a boot up his ass and tell him benvenidos.
Coco's gotten into the ayahuasca again, hasn't he?
No Coco Loco is on his roof wearing rabbit ears.
Puig's second walk today! Kid's learning something.
A.J. Puig!
Neeebs, why all the Puig hate?
He's raw. Let's just take it all in.
So long, asp back
Puig knocked in two runs with that death stare to Kennedy.
@DB: see PJ 8:20. Want to nip it in the bud.
'Sup, Sipp?
Btw....Rancho

Puig just ran out of the dugout and tried to take home on that Gonzalez hit.
attaboy, AG!!!

Matt Kemp @TheRealMattKemp 1m
Boom! My boys look good out there! #DodgerBlue
i like it
@Neeebs
"Adriendo" if Gonzalez is AB and the bases are loaded, as a pun on his name.
did they say what was wrong with Matty? All i heard was shoulder or AC "irritation." What are the chances it just goes away and Matty is playing again in a week or two?
Not good FB.
@FB
Good question...I think they're sort of in unknown territory. Early claim that it was unrelated to previous shoulder injury. But they were also originally saying he'd only be out a day or two, then no DL maybe probably, then DL, then....
The big concern is that the cortisone shot didnt help. That means it probably going to be tough for it to go away without lots of rest.
don't spike Ricky!
Mets up 3-2 in the fifth
I love Matty's sense of team spirit.
I also am very fond of his behind. But that's for another day.
(On the giants)
Dre homerun?
Nope. I miss those.
Go Mets. Go pads.
Oh had not read Matty got a PRP injection. Maybe that will speed things up if he survives the carbonite freezing process.
Vagiants tie the game.
"I also am very fond of his behind. But that's for another day."
Tomorrow then?
Come on, Mutts, get it together.
Kemp's no good to us dead.
he should get some of that deer antler velvet while he's at it
Horse placenta?
Man I thought Puig knocked himself out on that dive.
@Orel--Tomorrow then?...
Only in my dreams.
Almost spectacular
Puig is gonna kill himself
nothing can go wrong using equine stem cells, right?
One more out, Enrique. Then it's nervous time. #League
Neeebs drinks fawn tears to recover on tour.
Why do they advertise Wild Horsep Ass on the dugout railing? Arizona is weird
Puig is one extremely feisty guy
What the roadies have to do to get those tears is the stuff of nightmares
way to stay with it, AJ
I am very impressed with Ricky Nolasco.
Mets take a 5-3 lead on a Recker HR.
poor Jerry, not his night
Great job, Pretty Ricky!
I would like to see Crawford get a proper hit.
jump to 6:30 if it doesn't take you automatically
Welcome to LA Ricky! You did good.
cmon bullpen, can you hold them to 4?
*claps*
great effort, JP!
Wow! Loud nasty thunderstorm in D. Hope the wifi hold up
So many missed diving catches tonight.
I'm waiting for some 80 year old man to come out and shake his fist at Puig for mucking up his grass.
Don't use that umbrella, BJ.
Awesome pop foul dive attempt by Howell back there. Very gritty!
I hate Cody Ross
@Paul, does Joe Garagiola still call games for Az?
