At the All-Star Break, the Dodgers are 47-47 and 2.5 games behind the NL West leader, Arizona. But Fangraphs' projections, based on second-half strength of schedule, predicts the Dodgers will end the season one game ahead of the Diamondbacks, winning the NL West:
The data:
Team | Season to date | Remaining games | End of season projection |
Dodgers | 47-47 | 37-31 | 84-78 |
D'backs | 50-45 | 33-34 | 83-79 |
Rockies | 46-50 | 33-33 | 79-83 |
Giants | 43-51 | 35-33 | 78-84 |
Padres | 42-54 | 31-35 | 73-89 |
It's interesting that only the Dodgers and Giants are predicted to have a better than .500 record from here on out. We'll see how this plays out, literally.

The have us at 6 games over .500 for the rest of the year. That's bogus. I say we'll finish at 10-12 games over .500.
