Clayton Kershaw has started 8 times in a career with a chance to sweep a series. Dodgers are 7-1 in those games. Kershaw 5-1, 2.82 ERA

Clayton Kershaw (8-6, 1.98) vs. Jordan Zimmermann (12-4, 2.58).
The Dodgers have ridden their hot hand straight through the All-Star break, taking this series from the Nats and putting themselves in a position for a sweep. And who's taking the mound today? Oh look, it's Kershaw, out for blood after taking a loss against the Rockies in his last start. Let's get him some runs before moving on to Toronto.

He's back! Matt Kemp is back! That ball was hammered.

Beautiful relay from Werth to Rendon to get Crawford at third.
Another sweet defensive play by Hanley!
Just woke up to this pleasant score. Anyone got a quick recap?

That camera sound everytime Kershaw pitches to Harper reminds me of Scott taking pictures at Dodger stadium.
Thanks Orel. Like I was there! Plus I can picture kemp crushing the ball over the Lincoln memorial.
That's the second time Warner cable sky is falling commercial.
Runs for Kershaw! Finally!
Cycle it Matty!
Dylan Hernandez @dylanohernandez 15s
Jayson Werth has #VEnergy pumping through his veins today. Hits his 2nd HR off Kershaw.
That's it, bring in Brandon League!
Is that Teddy Roosevelt sitting in the first row?
I don't know about league. 7 runs makes it kinda close.
Oh baby it's League Time!
The Leeger!
Wonder how many flies League has eaten while on the mound?
I guess any ole schmuck can strikeout Harper today
Click, click, click....
Diamondbacks up on Giants, 1-0 in the first
This has been a strangely quiet weekend for the GTs. Weird.
Breaking Abad?
Its quiet because everyone is sweeping today.
I was busy all day with relatives in town and then slept in/had stuff to do today. Nice to see Matty being Matty.
Swing league!
Did League just work a walk?
@DBT: I don't know if he's swallowed that many bugs, I'd think those Bugs Bunny teeth of his probably act as a filter.
GODFUCKINGDAMMIT, Kemp!
SHIT Kemp hurts his foot at home?
Great. Kemp was hurt Ugh
Humbug.
This is why you don't trade Ethier.
This is why you always leave a note.

A month ago today, the Dodgers were 30-42 and 9 1/2 games out of first place. They're now 50-47, tied for 1st in the NL West.

Don Mattingly: (Matt Kemp's) ankle has a little swelling. It looks like a sprain. I don't anticipate DL. He got treatment right away.

Just watching Kemp walk around clubhouse, he can put hardly any pressure on his ankle

Mattingly said trainers thought Kenp's ankle was worse than it was. Full extent not clear yet

First place? What's that?

I have no problem with Madison Bumgarner plunking Miguel Montero.
D'backs 3, Giants 0, Top 9
Missed the game but just saw the 2nd inning on DVD. Sweet.
@Saxy I was repping the SOSG 6 shirt at the game last night. There were a few people who said "Sons of Steve Garvey! Cool"
Giants had two on with none out and somehow grounded into a double play but scored a run on an error. Two out, 3-1 AZ
Francouer gets a force out for the final out. AZ 3, SF 1.
Dodgers slip back into second by a half game.
@FB: where were you last night? ESPYs post-award show party?
Changing the Twitter avatar to the shirt logo was a very smart move. Was that you, Orel?
@Saxy - I was in Washington for the game. The game was a sellout and there were a ton of Dodger fans there
@FB: I'm totally psyched that some people you met in Washington recognized the logo.
What you were doing in jail, I'm not sure, but that's another story
@FB: got any pix from the game we could post?
@Gnomes: Sax and I had discussed it a while back. The All-Star break seemed as good a time to do it as any.
@Orel: can we have our own private conversation on this thread, too?
@Saxy - sorry, we didn't take any pics. I am actually terrible about that. I am usually on edge at an opponent's home stadium, especially the first time I am there. But the Nats fans were actually pretty reasonable, except for one or two that could pass for Phillies fans
@ BJK
You should check out the blu-ray. Even sweeter. ; )
