Post-Game 94 Thread: Puig Indeed A Factor, But Not A Prime Factor

ROCKIES 3, DODGERS 1

Ha, you didn't think we were going to forget this game, right?

So let's get out the ol' number theory and witness how Yasiel Puig, on the day of his "Puig Factor" t-shirt stadium giveaway, only factored in a single run (entering the game in the fifth, singling, and scoring on Adrian Gonzalez' two-out RBI single). But 1 isn't a prime factor! And unfortunately, that's all the Dodgers could muster on Sunday.

On a hot afternoon, Ricky Nolasco looked a lot shakier than his other Dodgers start, giving up 3 ER and 8 H over 5.0 IP (3 BB, 4 Ks). Jhoulys Chacin lasted 6.0 IP and gave up 6 H, but was only tagged for that single run (3 BB, 6 Ks). The Dodgers' offense, which was rolling during most of the end-of-first-half streak, sputtered to only two runs over the last three games, all at home.

But everyone is rested, right? And ready to face the Nationals on the road for three (the start of a six-game roadtrip, which also carries us north of the border)? Gosh, I hope so.
