Zack Greinke turned in a stellar performance against a strangely listless Diamondbacks club, allowing only two hits and no runs over seven innings. Dodgers move to 3.5 games out of first place in the NL West. Onward!

now THAT was a fast PGT!

Orel said...

Hooray for routs!

Fred's Brim said...

and I like it
I hope Nolasco can keep the good pitching going

Orel said...

Dre is downright talkative on the post-game show.

Orel said...

Mets 3, Giants 3, B8

MR.F said...

Still tied after 8.

Steve Sax said...

Singles night! Wish I could have been there.

Paul said...

Who is the show off who brought the Double?

Orel said...

Dre is such a pimp!

MR.F said...

Extras for NY-SF.

Steve Sax said...

Greinke has the look of a deranged madman in the locker room interview. Hopefully there are no sharp objects around him.

Steve Sax said...

@Paul 9:48p: Ethier is the show off tonight

Steve Sax said...

Puig: 2nd player since 1950 to have .400 or better avg through first 130 AB (Tony Oliva)

Orel said...

Zack is as bland off the field as he is sharp on it.

Dusty Baker said...

Zack can stand there catatonic in an interview for all I care as long as he can deal like that every game out. So glad to have him as a Dodger and as 1A on the pitching staff. You bring, it Tiny Head, we got your back!

MR.F said...

Mets have runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. Marlon Byrd up to bat.

MR.F said...

As someone with anxiety issues, I'm cool with Zack being "bland" if that's just him being himself.

Steve Sax said...

SB puts runners on second and third

Orel said...

I'm good with bland!

Steve Sax said...

Dammit, marlon

Steve Sax said...

@Dusty: yeah, I agree. Zack was the man tonight.

MR.F said...

Byrd grounds out. Still tied.

Dusty Baker said...

@Mr F

Completely agree. Support being who a person is, however that is!

Mrs. Dusty said...

An "A Chorus Line" reference and a Dodger win - truly a "thrilling combination" in your pgt, Orel!

Orel said...

Thank you, Dusty's better half!

MR.F said...

Oyster Pubes is 4-5 today.

MR.F said...

Giants threaten in the bottom of the 11th, but strand runners on 1st and 2nd, wasting Pubes' 1-out double.

Neeebs (The Original) said...

I'm as bland as a peroshki.

MR.F said...

Mets fail to score in their half of the 12th.

Orel said...

Just add Sriracha.

MR.F said...

Vagiants have runners at 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.

MR.F said...

Belt K's to end the 12th. Onto the 13th.

Orel said...

Belt strikes out swinging.

Orel said...

DAMMIT

MR.F said...

Mets go 1-2-3.

Orel said...

The Mets have Dodgeritis.

MR.F said...

Posey K's. 1 out.

MR.F said...

Runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs for the gnats.

MR.F said...

Now bases loaded.

MR.F said...

I went to the bathroom. Mets got out of it and 1-2-3. Vagiants coming in the bottom of the 14th.

MR.F said...

Onto inning 15.

MR.F said...

Still tied as we head into the bottom of the 15th.

MR.F said...

Sandoval HBP. Probably because he's so fat. Giants will probably capitalize here and win it.

MR.F said...

1st and 3rd, 2 out for the gnats.

Orel said...

I wrote a novel. Mets & Giants in the 15th.

MR.F said...

Now bases loaded after IBB for Gregor Blanco. I fully expect the gnats to win.

MR.F said...

LOL. Blanco grounds out to end the inning.

Orel said...

Man, the Giants really fucked that up. Nice.

Pride of Dong said...

The "last call" fairy left an hour ago. There's a joke in there, but it's after midnight...

Steve Sax said...

16th inning. Mets are 1-for-6 with RISP and 5 LOB. Giants are 1-for-13 with RISP; 16 LOB.

MR.F said...

EY singles with 1 out.

Steve Sax said...

Mr f, don't you have work tomorrow?

(pours mr f another beer)

(adds another beer for smonk)

MR.F said...

Stolen base and Olney means EY at 3rd for David Wright. Best chance for the Mets in a long time.

Pride of Dong said...

When you live in a vagiants market, you keep seeing these horrible car commercials staring posey. Anyone need an IT manager in SoCal?

MR.F said...

Wright IBB.

MR.F said...

Anthony Recker, backup catcher, up to bat.

MR.F said...

Error on Crawford. EY scores! Mets up 4-3!

Orel said...

SoSG needs an IT manager, if you're willing to work for peanuts.

Orel said...

Like, actual peanuts.

Pride of Dong said...

That what I do at 5 guys! One day I'll eat a burger there!

MR.F said...

Scutaro, Belt, Posey for the gnats.

Pride of Dong said...

Belt has gone 0-8. That is amazing...

MR.F said...

Belt with the Platinum Sombrero. 0-7

MR.F said...

Oops. 0-8. lol even worse

Hideo Nomo said...

We can afford peanuts now?

Orel said...

Belt strikes out, what, six times tonight?

Steve Sax said...

Belt is not only 0-for-8, he's got 5 Ks

Steve Sax said...

Giants have first and second, one out. I smell walk off.

MR.F said...

2 outs. All up to J. Lopez.

MR.F said...

Or, I assume, a pinch-hitter. What I get for not knowing all the players.

Orel said...

NOT BUSTER OLNEY ‏@TRIPPINGOLNEY 3m

PABLO SANDOVAL, EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT WITH TWINS, STEPS IN WITH THE TYING RUN AT SECOND

MR.F said...

G. Quiroz grounds out to end the game. LOL VAGIANTS LOSE HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

Orel said...

Ha!

Pride of Dong said...

I fell asleep at the end, now the sore tired crawl to bed.

MR.F said...

So, I guess that's the 132nd Platinum Sombrero in MLB history.

Mets win!

BJ Killeen said...

In Detroit. Woke up to all this good news.

Fred's Brim said...

And now some of you know what it's like to be a fan of the Dodgers from the east coast. 1AM EST finishes are actually an early finish

Steve Sax said...

@FB: yeah. But lucky you also gets all that great coverage of those small, under-the-radar, unmentioned teams like the Yankees and Red Sox.

Steve Sax said...

@BJ: 351

Fred's Brim said...

@Saxy - there are a couple of underground new sources that cover those teams really well. They tend to be communist in their other reporting (wars, famine, celebrities) but you have to deal with that to get the baseball coverage you want

Dusty Baker said...

This was awesome a GT sprang out of a PGT. And the Gnats lost.
