Military / Texas / Alamo Bowls Thread

Military: East Carolina vs. Maryland, 11:30a

Texas: Baylor vs. Illinois, 3p

Alamo: Arizona vs. Oklahoma State, 6:15p

Three, three, THREE BOWLS IN ONE DAY! Yes, the gluttonous holiday season starts in earnest with three games who (as of December 18) had point spreads of no more than seven points. The Military Bowl will of course be interesting to see if the turtle is really worth being feared (line is Maryland by 7), and the Texas Bowl will see if the Illini have any fight left in them (Baylor by 1). There's a third bowl, too, but I can't remember the name.

Feast away!

Three bowls on the same day with tangentially connected names. I dig it!

All three of them will involve strategery

10 min to Arsenal/Wigan in the EPL. Can't get too excited about East Oklahoma vs. Vanderbilt Tech.

Charlton Athletic and Brighton played to a 1-1 draw in League One play this morning.

Brighton threatening a move up to the LC, it seems! They've fared well this year despite the loss of Dean Cox.

Brighton is looking strong for promotion. Charlton has to snag one of those top two spots...

...which exhausts my knowledge of League One wisdom. I wonder if Orient has kept up the traditional chant for Cox. It would be a shame if such a cultural treasure was abandoned.

Wasn't long ago that Charlton was a top flight team.

Wish own goals only counted for half. What a letdown today.

You ain't kidding.

Yeah, Mr. C.
Saw the replay of the loss to Wolves. Some ugly football today. Always happens during the Holiday week.

Now, about these bowls. . .

Nostradamus said...

That's putting it kindly. The Reds are going nowhere until some significant changes are made.

Now, about these bowels. . .

I remember when Charlton was EPL.

Oh, how the meek have fallen.

Charlton was even mid-table for a long time, like your Aston Villas of the world.

What if MLB had relegation? I confess I've thought of this before over beers...

@sax

I would be lying if I said I hadn't considered the same. Baseball is truly the only American sport in which it would even be plausible.

Arizona is getting pasted here
