When I was growing up, left field in Dodger Stadium was Bakersfield, named for Dusty Baker. And more recently, of course, left field has been dubbed Mannywood. And what now besides an area for a platoon of no-names? Steve Dilbeck wonders...:
They currently have no left-field starter and lost out on another prime candidate Friday when Bill Hall signed with the Astros to play second base.
It’s not like Hall was going to be a major acquisition, but at least he was right-handed and offered some pop (18 home runs in 382 at-bats for Boston last season).
But according to Foxsports.com’s Ken Rosenthal, Hall just signed a one-year deal with Houston for approximately $3 million.
Which leaves the Dodgers where, besides with a black hole in their lineup? The Dodgers have been busy stockpiling their pitching staff, but their daily lineup has been improved only at second base with the addition of Juan Uribe.
Man, this is looking bleak for 2011. I can't believe I'm actually regretting missing out on Bill Frickin' Hall, but at this point...

You had to know it would come to this. Trader Ned has been shipping out young players and prospects for short-term fixes in every deal since Ethier. Unless you are spending a TON in free agency, that catches up with you.
The trade to get Ethier wasn't abad deal, however...
Pedro Feliciano signed with the Yanks for 2 years, 8 mil. Why didn't we go after him? Wouldn't he have been a better pickup than GWARier?
I sure was hoping for a New Mexico Bowl thread.
Dusty, ask and you shall receive.
