Meineke Car Care / Sun / Liberty / Chick-fil-A Bowls Thread

Holy smokes! There's a giant football coming out of the stadium!

And now the football has eclipsed the sun!

Wait a second, now it's gone again...

Argh! It's back! And now there's a giant chicken head, too!

Meineke Car Care: Clemson vs. South Florida, 9a

Sun: Notre Dame vs. Miami, 11a

Liberty: Georgia vs. Central Florida, 12:30p

Chick-fil-A: South Carolina vs. Florida State, 4:30p

Only the late game has two ranked teams playing (#20 South Carolina and #23 Florida State), and the only other ranked team playing today is Central Florida, squeaking in at #25. (The only other notable thing is the fact that the Sun Bowl is the first bowl this season NOT to be televised on ESPN (it's on CBS). But given this slate of matchups, I'm going to be out having champagne, then. Even at 6am.

A car care bowl and a Hyundai bowl. Does this portend a bad maintenance record for Hyundais bought in 2011?

The Sun Bowl ball has a Mohawk. That's EXTREME~! Like Poochie.

@Josh

Don't forget the sunglasses and backward cap.

DB - Yikes...Meineke, Hyundai, and Autozone bowls. The BCS is trying to extend its dominance of the world through vertical integration.

Not sure how chicken sandwiches fit in. But somehow, I'm sure they do.

Congrats to the Stanford Cardinal for ending UConn's streak!

Yes, congrats to Stanford. Pac-10 had a good day yesterday.

Did Georgia seriously not score a TD in that game? Or was it a TD and a missed PAT?

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Three points in the first quarter, three in the third. No TDs for the 'Dogs.

It is rather cold out.

Glad I'm not waiting on the cruel Streets of Pasadena for the Rose Parade. Maybe I should do my camping elsewhere? CoD, maybe?

@Sax

My place is empty now. Help yourself to the sofa and the Scotch. Feed the cats if you get a chance.

Steve Sax said...

@Dusty: Are you offering me a Scotch and Sofa?

Kyle Baker said...

Nice one, Saxy. Nice one.

I'm up in dis bish with DB. Cold as hell in OC though.

Got some good footy in the morning.

Well, for me anyway, but I hate when Arsenal play at B-ham. Bad things always happen at St. James.

Oh, and to follow DB's lead:

Beer status: vodka
Pizza: 3 varieties still being eaten.
Mrs. RB: watching Wheel of Fortune with the kids.

Back to on-line video poker.
