Game 69 Thread: June 15 @ Tigers, 10a

Clayton Kershaw (0-1, 4.50) vs. Nate Robertson (4-6, 5.88).

COMMENTS: The Dodgers, now six games below .500 for the first time this season, have not won a series since May 21, back when Hillary Rodham Clinton was still in the presidential race, the Lakers looked unstoppable, and gas was as low as $4.50 a gallon. Yesterday's win not only wasted a rare seven-run outburst by the Dodgers limp bats, but also sent losing pitcher Brad Penny back home for an MRI on his shoulder. The only thing positive I can say about this final game at Comerica Park is that I will be watching the beginning of Sunday's game on a huge 26.5 feet x 46.5 feet screen...at Dodger Stadium (where they're opening up the gates to have the Father's Day Catch on the field). I'll make sure to stretch, in case Penny's MRI means I need to suit up to join the starting rotation.

So, if anyone won't post the lineup:

Pierre, LF
Maza, 2B
DeWitt,3B
Martin, DH
Loney, 1B
Kemp, CF
Ethier, RF
Berroa, SS
Ardoin, C

Interesting, at least we can't say Torre bore us with his lineups.

Maza singles at the top of the 4th. No outs.

DeWitt grounds out, forcing Maza at 2nd. Martin flied out and while King James at the plate, a wild pitch.

DeWitt is at 2nd.

Loney grounded out. That's it.

Rain delay at the top of the 5th. I hope it doesn't last long, there is a pitching's duel going on.

If gameday is going to be believed, Kershaw was sharp today.

Hi Karina - thanks for backing us up!

karina said...

Hello, Eric!. It's my pleasure, i know you all guys are celebrating Father's Day! (i'm writing my thesis, meanwhile i'm checking Dodgers baseball)

karina said...

Wise decision, Kershaw is out of the game. Robertson's still on.

karina said...

It seems it was not that wise. Park is on the mound, after 2 outs, three consecutive singles and Dodgers are down 1-0.

Guillen doubles, 2-0.

Maggs walks.

karina said...

According to gameday, Cabrera singled, Berroa catched and threw to DeWitt and he couldn't manage it. Guillen was out at home.

The Bison singled, Loney to 2nd and still no outs!
Ethier's up!

Fly out. Kent is replacing Berroa.

karina said...

Kent singled, King James scored, Kemp's on 3rd. One out.

again, let's go blue!

Dodgers 3-Tigers 5

It's Broxton turn and the only available player is Young.

Let's see what Torre does.

So my internet connection collapsed due to the rain, but it seems this what happened:
Young pinch hitted for Broxton, flied out, 2 outs. Pierre at the plate and there was a wild pitch, Kemp scored. Then, Pierre flied to the CF.
They lost again, but it'd be wonderful they could maintain this spark of a 4-run 9th inning.

Again, keep enjoying your father's day!

I hope you guys don't mind i was on this GT commenting alone.
