Brad Penny (5-8, 5.38) vs. Eddie Bonine (0-0, -.--).
COMMENTS: Here's the Dodgers' offensive highlights from last night: Loney tripled and didn't score; Martin and Pierre singled and didn't score; and Pierre had yet another meaningless stolen base (did I mention he didn't score?). Yawn. Today, the Dodgers face the replacement for the demoted Dontrelle Willis; Bonine was 9-2 for Toledo and today marks his major-league debut. At five games under .500, LA has the sorry Giants only a game and a half behind us, and our 3-7 record over the last ten has let Arizona stretch its lead back to 5.5 games.

de-lino is in de-troit. I was told it's not polite to yell at ms miggy.
The first inning is so appropriate. Pierre Ks. DeWitt reaches on an error by Cabrera. And Kent hits a comebacker for a DP.
The only question today is if our own EK will be able to comment on this GT while doing play by play on the Fox game!
Rick Monday said something funny! After the Dodgers' first run in 25 innings, he said the way the dugout reacted they might as well have called timeout and asked for the game ball.
Delino! Shopping for a fine American car (I hear they get great gas mileage)?
Hey just in time to listen to the game and hear the tigers score - All tied up 1-1.
Penny retires the first six in order but walks two to start the third. Tigers cash one in, 1-1 tie.
Men on 2nd & 3rd for the Dodgers. Martin, first pitch swinging, pops out. But Ethier with a ground-rule double to give the Dodgers a 3-1 lead!
Maybe I should keep listening - we score 2!!!!. Monday with the observation, "maybe it was shock or the infrequency, but Loney had to go back and touch homeplate to score." Nice backhanded comment...
Kemp K's but Young drives in Ethier, 4-1 Dodgers. I wonder if Young is going to take playing time away from Kemp.
Four runs? Impossible!
Hmm, and Sweeney isn't DHing. Coincidence?
Dammit, Penny's pitching BP. Tigers hit TWO 2-run HRs and lead 5-4.
Four runs, and of course Penny can't hold it.
In the bright side of things, they have scored 4 runs! and it seems King James is on fire...
Penny is pitching batting practice in this inning, indeed.
Penny yanked. 6-4 Tigers. Thanks for playing, Brad.
hmmm, i think it's hard to see a bright side to this team for more than 10 minutes, what's up for that bad Martin throw to second?.
Actually, Pierre surprised me, i thought it was going to be an inside the park HR
Ok, now THIS is dodger baseball.
I jinxed King James. Boo me.
Had a couple up for Loney, and he hits into a DP.
Quick can anyone name the second leading batting avg for the dodgers?
At least he hit a meaningless triple yesterday and a couple of doubles today, he can't carry the team on his back, we don't want another Furcal kind of injury.
It's between King James and Kemp
E Loaiza. Sort of a cheapo question, but it is sad when you leading batter, Furcal, is on the DL, the the 2nd leading batter is a pitcher that isn't even on the friken team. So sad...
Gotta run for a bit, I bet when I get back, the dodgers will be losing...
Ugh, we are hopeless. 8-4 Tigers.
The game they score 4 runs early in the game, they have awful pitching and defense...
Fox announcer in Spanish: i don't know how the Dodgers are not at least fighting for the first place in the weak NL West
i guess he doesn't read sample sizes...
It's a facr Dodgers don't do well on interleague games.
*fact
Let's show some love to Ethier, 2-run HR and 4 RBI on this game (your bad approach to the ball on the 4th inning is all forgiven)
Karina, you are a trouper!
why do you say that, Orel?
The rest of us have all but given up on this game yet you're still following along and seeing the positive side of things.
Optimism is a first, ALWAYS!
Sweeney reached first base, on a walk, that is...
King James is hot! a left field single! let's go blue!
That was it. See you tomorrow!
sorry about lack of posting. been 1. drinking and 2. drinking. some thoughts...centerfield is massive. conies are the best hot dog. penny ain't worth a nickel. miggy is tall. every stadium should sell labatt. at times, the game resembled a bad news bear montage
Hey, I'm back, what did I miss? Oh, geez, the dodgers lose again. Too bad I missed the festivities.
Not sure if this was mentioned, pitcher Eddie Bonine is the son of Eddie Bonine Sr., who is the commissioner of Prep sports in the State of Nevada prep sports.(www.niaa.com)
This organization is the Nevada equivalent of the CIF ..Dad Eddie played in the minors for about a dozen seasons. He may have had a few ML games..Nice guy...I still shoot some prep sports, his dad was at many games, of course...Huge guy, must be about 6'6"...
Well, junior got his first major-league win against the Dodgers. Congrats to the Bonine family!
