Dodgers: His availablity is uncertain after suffering a freak injury to his pitching hand while playing catch with teammate Jonathan Broxton during batting practice Tuesday night. he was scheduled to start Wednesday but was scratched. On top of that, Lowe doesn't talk about his hip or groin injury, but he hasn't been the same pitcher since he suffered it in July. He's 3-6 since July 22 and he walked five in his most recent start.

D'backs: Hernandez pitched his way into and out of trouble during his last start, which is nothing new for him. The right-hander allowed 11 baserunners over six innings, but managed to give up just three runs. Two of the runs came on solo homers by Bengie Molina. Hernandez did not factor in the decision as the D-backs rallied in the ninth for a 5-3 win. In his start before that, Hernandez gave up five runs over five innings, but still walked away with a win over the Padres.
