Dodgers start Derek Lowe, RHP (8-9, 3.45) vs. Livan Hernandez, RHP (6-7, 4.98).
Dodgers: 58-51 (3rd place NL West, 2.0 GB, L2)
D'backs: 61-50 (1st place NL West, 1.5 GA, W1)
From Dodgers.com, the scouting report on the starters:
Dodgers: Assuming he gets past a Wednesday bullpen session, Lowe returns after missing a start for the first time in his Major League career because of pain in the left groin area. He's also winless since June 22, although the respectable ERA is an indicator that he's drawn tough assignments and been the victim of poor run support throughout the season. Known as an innings eater, he's gone three and four innings in his last two starts.D'backs: Hernandez got shelled Sunday against the Braves, allowing eight runs on eight hits in four innings, tying a season high for runs allowed. He also walked three and hit a batter during his short day of work. The escape artist nearly got out of a bases-loaded jam in the second after inducing a popup with one out, but Conor Jackson missed a ball hit to first that led to a two-out, three-run double after Hernandez also allowed three in the first. He's now 1-5 with a 6.58 ERA in his last 11 starts since starting the year 5-2.
COMMENTS:
This Son will again be back at the Stadium tonight, Field level, 3rd base side. I'm wearing a blue Dodgers BP jersey since my grey jersey isn't doing the trick. Stop by and say hi--look for the guy making cracks at Livan Hernandez' weight.

Sax is IN THE HOUSE! Well before the anthem today. Nice!
Cooooooooler bag, in hand. VHTF, MIMBag.
Lowe give up a bomb to Byrnes, 2-0 Snakes in the first.
Bonds just hit 755
Mixed cheers and boos at Petco
Loney is 1-for-1! But Nomar's GIDP blows any RBI opp'ty.
They just announced Bonds' 755th, to a chorus of booooooos
Livan's looking Laaaaaaarger!
Livan's looking Laaaaaaarger!
Livan's looking Laaaaaaarger!
Selig reacted to 755 like he was reluctantly standing up for the 7th inning stretch.
Sorry about the multiple posts. Crackberry is acting up.
It is a beautiful night at the ballpark. The Dodgers had better win.
LOST: Dodgers offense. Very small, but once potent. Last seen in San Francisco (where a series was swept). Has tendency to swing early in count.
3-2 to Martin w/RISP
The only run we get is through a bases-loaded walk. Two of our last three runs were from bases-loaded walks. PATHETIC.
This is pathetic. The only way we can score is if the opposing team gift wraps a run for us.
Nomar ACK!
Now we're the Keystone Kops out there.
Another error. This is unwatchable.
what happened to Alex Cora?
WE SUCK
I think next year we need a new manager, Grady Little is a country bumpkin.
Is it the manager's fault when the Dodgers leave the bases loaded every other inning?
Here we go again, men getting on only to be stranded.
TWO MORE STRANDED
To quote Tony Jackson, "This game was over before it started." 8-1 D'backs.
Nomar is wicked awesome. 8-6 snakes, Dodgers gaining...
Ethier knocks one, but saenz FOs and Raffy pops to second, Slappy is up...
Wow, Saito has been so unused that he's coming in during a non-save sit. Interesting...
Okay Blue, make me a believer again.
Ugh, that K by Nomart was bad. Too bad.
