Post-Game 119 Thread: Kershaw Finishes Off Brew

DODGERS 5, BREWERS 1

Leave it to Clayton Kershaw. While Roberto Hernandez treaded water and Zack Greinke had more difficulty than normal in their respective starts, Kershaw gave up one run in the first inning off a Ryan Braun single, and then shut down the Brewers from there. Kershaw's line: 8.0 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 6 Ks and 2 BB; good enough for his 14th win, which again is remarkable given his time on the DL at the front of the season.

A.J. Ellis hit his first home run of the year in the eighth inning. I repeat, A.J. Ellis hit his first home run of the year in the eighth inning. Let's hope that monumental blow sparks Ellis back into some decent batting, as his 1-for-5 performance sadly raised his batting average to .189 today. Adrian Gonzalez continued his hot streak by going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI; Matt Kemp and Kershaw also had RBI.

Oh, and while you guys were all ogling Brewers fans, you may have missed that the Royals completed the sweep of the Giants, extending the Dodgers' NL West lead to 4.5 games.

Off to Atlanta, where the question becomes whether to lead with Dan Haren or Kevin Correia. I'm peeking through hands over my eyes, either way.

Always better to fly to your next series on a win. Let's try to figure out how to get a split in ATL

And I thought Hernandez was great on Friday, I will take that start all season long

@FB: You're right, it wasn't Hernandez, or even League, which doomed the Dodgers on Friday; it was Turner's (fielding) rebellion. I don't think Turner is hearing footsteps from Darwin Barney, but let's hope it raises his game nonetheless.

I just watched some of the mlb.com highlights. She's right above the "O" in brewers.cOm.

It's like a triangle of round shapes, all co-located.
