Zack Greinke (12-7, 2.71) vs. Mike Fiers (0-1, 2.57).
We didn't start Mike Fiers He was always starting With Garza departing (for the DL) We didn't start Mike Fiers |
"Zack Greinke is with his fourth team and he's never won any of six previous starts against clubs he has left," according to STATS INC via ESPN. I mean, might as well forfeit right now, right?
At first that seems like a pretty foreboding factoid, but once we remember that correlation ≠ causation, we can appreciate that Greinke can redeem his loss against the Angels against the Brew Crew as well as he can against teams he hasn't played for.
Unless Bernie Brewer slipped a mickey in his drink. Leonard Bernstein!

I hope we can start a little better tonight
correlation ≠ causation ::
We Didn't Start the Fire ≠ It's the End of the World As We Know It
Billy Joel just got told!
Uribe!
So hea-vay!
What else do I have to say?
The Bratwurst just dissed a Brewers fan in a Fielder jersey, totally left him hanging on a high five
Gordon 2B
Puig CF
Gonzalez 1B
Kemp RF
Crawford LF
Uribe 3B
Ellis C
Rojas SS
Greinke P
Hanley held out with the obliquey injury
I hope Puig can get going today
him breaking the bat during a check swing was pretty impressive but I would take a 2-4 over that
Puig Ks for the second out
How do the Brewers have Chorizo trademarked?
Adrian grounds out
Grienke Ks Gomez
Lucroy hits one at CC but he doesn't pick it up in the sun, luckily it falls in front of him for a single
and Grienke gets Braun to ground into a double play. Justin Turner winced from the dugout
bigtime shift on for Matty, only the 1B on the right side of the infield, doesn't matter as Matty Ks
Friers comes from way over the top with his pitches, we don't seem to be picking it up very well
CC grounds to second
Uribe goes down on 3 pitches
Grienke gets Ramirez to ground out
Gennett with a soft flare to center with one out
AJ takes foul ball right off the left knee, poor bastard
Grienke's fastball was high and away but Davis still got good wood on it
Reynolds pops out to the mesosphere
this trailing shit is no good, especially when we don't really have any late-inning magic
Segura Ks for the third out
2-0 Brewers. Zanky hasn't been his usual sharp self lately
Can we convert Kenley back to a catcher? We need somebody who can hit over .200
Segura successfully olés AJ's grounder
Rojas battling
Rojas takes a low strike, Ks
Grienke breaks up the perfect game with a walk
Dee grounds to short to end the inning
will Grienke return the favor?
no
Rojas makes a nice play to get Gomez
Lucroy rips another single to CC. I wonder if he got into Braun's stash this season
Braun grounds to Uribe for the 3rd out
C'mon Puig, get us on the board here
Puig flares to second, he's been off lately
And Adrian has been on - he sends one deep to right to break up the no-hitter and cut the lead in half!
Ramirez successfully olés Matty's grounder
AGon, nice!
CC flies to center
At least we're on the board
Ramirez with a leadoff single
Grienke starts a nice double play
Waging a war for TV coverage with snark.
yeesh, step away for a few minutes and we're down 4-1
how/why do we have the best record in the NL?
how/why do we only have 2 hits?
because our hitters can't stay healthy
Matty with a leadoff single
CC with the double play ball back to the pitcher
there was a story a few years ago that talked about how the Brewers had changed their philsophy with their medical team from getting injured players back on the field as soon as possible to a strategy of injury prevention. I wonder how that's worked out for them and if there's something we should be doing
Wilson in for the 7th
Giants down 4-0 to the Rals
if we go 1-2 at MIL, 1-2 at ATL and 1-2 vs MIL, we'll still be 14-11 in this 25game stretch against +.500 teams
Giants down 5-0.
@FB: we play four in ATL
@FB 6:09p: hmm. Does that explain Ryan Braun's prolonged absence last year?
Oh wait, scratch that. It's because he's a CHEATER
Who's got his/her rally hat on?
Lucroy up to finish this game off
@Saxy - wonderful
so 14-12
AJ takes down Gomez after he idiotically tries to steal third with 2 outs and the hottest hitter in baseball up
Dodgers only have 3 hits? That's weak
Uribe flies to right after working the count to 3 balls
So.... correlation = causation?
AJ with a checkswing nubber to the pitcher
man we stink tonight
FB @6:09p: How do you prevent Joe Kelly from plunking you in the ribs?
cause = time
@Orel I don't know
I think Fiers is getting better
Pedro Baez in now
Turner makes a play at short
Glad he's shaken off last night
I hope we play the Angels in the World Series
2 straight for Turner
Ramirez hits a smash that Uribe unsuccessfully olés
FB: Like, routine plays for Turner?
and Turner for the third out
unbelievable, how crazy is baseball
olé = fancy glove grab?
Not being able to watch these is shittier after having just watched a few. Dusty mad.
@Orel, yeah kinda, I consider an olé to be a ball that a fielder tries to catch with his glove to the side when he should get in front of it
last ups, Dre vs K-Rod
and he walks, that's a nice start
Dee gives it a ride to center but Gomez tracks it down, one out
Puig tries to hit into the double play but beats the throw to first, 2 outs
Adrian trying to keep us alive
Adrian pissed about STrike 1
Adrian dunks one in front of Braun, Yasiel to 3rd, Kemp up
What a shitty game. Thanks for sticking around, FB
Matty with a slow roller to first, K-Rod covers, game over
*sigh*
we can't have one guy leave the lineup and then the rest of the hitters go in the shitter. How do you build resiliency in the lineup so there isn't a domino effect when somebody goes down?
and why do I care so much? Would I be happier if I didn't?
good night all
Dodgers and giants both lose
