The Lucky Dodgers T-Shirt Dilemma

Need your help here, SoSG readership, pronto.

For NLDS Game 3, I wore this shirt to the game. It's a great shirt; worn enough over the years so that it's soft and comfortable (tagless back also helps), simple and traditional design in the front; and the gray and blue colors go with anything. I love this shirt, so much so that even a small hole near the front right hasn't caused me to pitch it into the rag pile just yet. I've worn this t-shirt all over the world to proclaim my Dodgers love.

Anyway, as you know from the scorecards (if not from the post-game wrap-up that I have not yet published, nor written), we won Game 3 in a big way. That game was awesome, a true drubbing.

So I came home Sunday night, and I didn't wash the shirt; I didn't want to lose any of the shirt's mojo. I instead set this shirt aside on a chair to rest. And then I wore that shirt again to NLDS Game 4, and of course, I was there to see this amazing game and we won Game 4 in dramatic fashion.

Game 4 was magical. This shirt, potentially, is magical.

So I took off the shirt after I got home from Game 4 and put it aside to rest again.

Now, on the eve of NLCS Game 1, the shirt is now beckoning. It is getting a little stinky, having been worn two days in a row and having sat through almost eight hours of game time; nine large beers, one pizza, and two Dodger Dogs across two games; and countless points of elation and despair followed by more elation.

Here's my question. Should I:

  • a) wear the unwashed shirt to watch NLCS Game 1 at home tonight;
  • b) wear the shirt, but first wash the shirt, to get rid of the NLDS mojo and move to new NLCS mojo, and then watch NLCS Game 1 at home tonight;
  • c) don't wear the shirt, washed or unwashed.

What say you, true believers? Decide this shirt's evening fate!

Mojo doesn't cross time zones, it's ok to wash

Maybe it's a magical home game shirt. My two cents: wear whatever you wore for game 1 of the NLDS and save this shirt for game 3 of the NLCS.

I'm with 7777. Clearly the shirt has magical properties at home games. And you don't want to do anything to break that mojo, which would include wearing it in a non-game attendance situation or by washing it. I mean, it's down to proven science, no?

Thirded on the 7Squared statement.
I would also like to add that mojo does run out. You can't go to that well too many times. Save it for game 3

If there's one thing Fred's Brim knows about, it's mojo. Learn from the master.

If there's another thing Fred's Brim knows about, it's juggalos.

Save it for game 3 and sit next to a cards fan. I hope you reek so badly that he leaves the stadium.

Meanwhile, wearing the colors as run errands today!

Same here BJ. Got my Dodger blue dress shirt on today. Dodgers lanyard and Dodgers lunch bag are a part of my daily uniform as well.

Blue jeans, blue button down shirt, and my "dress up" blue Nike sneakers for me.

But what if I'm not at Game 3 (I'm actually not planning on attending any of this round)? Still wear the shirt?

During the Kings' Stanley Cup run I wore the same t-shirt for every home game--a different one for road games--whether I attended the game or not. In my experience, washing it had no ill effects. Socks and underpants on the other hand...
