Jake Peavy (12-5, 4.17) vs. Joe Kelly (10-5, 2.69)
The next installment in the Bitter Party makes for an interesting story line. Wait, there's really only one story line:
Now is your time to avenge the Joe Kelly pitch to HanRam's ribs, Red Sox. Do it. We'll owe you one and we certainly have your back against the hated Shards.
David Ortiz checks in at first base while Mike Napoli sits based on the NL rules. Pivotal game, and it should be a great one. Sam Adams up, everyone!
This will also serve as your comments thread for UCLA at Oregon, Stanford at Oregon State, and South Carolina at Missouri Game Thread. However, no comments re: Furman vs. LSU are welcome here.
ps- Sorry for the anti-Cards vibe around here, @DiamondFischer! We still love you.

This TX Tech v Oklahoma isn't a bad game to follow, either. 24-21 Tech at end of three.
7-7 in UCLA game early. Come on, you Bruins! Fuck a duck!
UCLA and Oregon tied at 7 at the end of one, but Oregon comes out and scores immediately in the second.
I want me some pizza tonight. Who's with me?!
I'm in, Saxy!
Miss a fuckin bat already, Peavy!
Way to bring it, Peavy.
14-14 in UCLA v O game.
Peavy should spend more time thinking about pitching and less time worrying about that Uribe-sized chew in his mouth.
I mean the chew is the size of Uribe, not the size of a chew that Uribe would have.
I hate the Red Sox, but I find I'm hating the Cards even more right now.
What are the Clydesdales doing at the World Series? Don't they have footballs to kick?
Feel the hateHateHATE, Orel!
RIP Edna Krabappel.
UCLA Score update Dusty? I'm trying to get caught up on my deadlines...
@ BJ
14-14. Second half just started with both teams being held to three and out.
Thanks, D. I'm gonna try to catch the half. Would be awesome to beat O after losing to S last week.
Has the sniff of an upset, doesn't it, BJ?
Robs!
I can't remember the last time UCLA threw the ball downfield. Come on, Bruins!
Even knowing Tim McCarver won't be back next year doesn't make listening to him any easier.
I think my hatred of Joe Kelly has surpassed even Victorino. I'm rooting for Jake Peavy and these bearded dipshit Red Sox. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?
Joe Kelly has something coming to him. I want to see his pain.
2-1 BoSox now after some small ball. Feels slightly better.
Oregon up 28-14 now. DAMMIT.
35-14 now and this one is done.
Hometown a-hole David Freese. I really have no reason to dislike this guy, but I do. #Culero
2-2 top of the 7th.
Cardinals don't have yellow beaks.
fuck you for trying to meld it into your color scheme

watching these shitbag teams, I have no idea how I would mentally manage the Dodgers being in the world series. they might commit me just to be safe
it feels like this is fixed
Craig touched Middlebrooks' balls
fuck you Cards, the baseball gods will eventually get tired of you jostling their balls and will look for something else
FB still angry, more drunk
"Craig touched Middlebrooks' balls"
heh heh
That was...odd. Not that I really care all that much, but why did Saltalawatchamacallit make that throw in the first place? It's like the Red Sox are hellbent on throwing this series away.
Replays show Middlebrooks tried to raise up his legs to trip Craig. It was the right call. Middlebrooks' move was as lame as A-Rod trying to slap the ball out of the glove.
Gonna play devil's advocate for a sec. Not to argue with ya, Brother Sax, but I think Middlebrooks lifting his legs was his attempt at trying to clear the basepath. But neither player was looking at each other, so a clusterfuck ensued.
But, obstruction is obstruction, intent or not.
Hmm, you may be right. Watching some more replays, it's hard to tell what the hell went on there. Saltamacchia probably shouldn't have made that throw, but it sounds like curious managerial decisions were made by both sides all game long (I didn't watch the full game). Oh well
The call - much as I hate to say - was right. There was no reason Middlebrooks had to lift his legs up in that situation. His momentum had come to a stop, so one can't say his legs came up as a result of his forward movement. He was taking some sort of risk, but the real story is how stupid Salty was to make such a high-risk throw.
