Post-Game 155 Thread: Kershaw Restores Order

DODGERS 4, PADRES 0

Clayton Kershaw, well-rested and pool-bathed, took the mound tonight and hadn't missed a step: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB and 10 Ks. A.J. Ellis got in his second HR in three games, a two-run shot in the fourth; Yasiel Puig launched a mammoth two-run shot to deep center which sailed over a tall piece of shrubbery just right of the batters' eye. That's all she wrote.

The Braves' loss to the Cubs left them one game away from clinching; both division leaders Atlanta and St. Louis each have 91 wins. The Dodgers are now at 89 wins, with seven more to play.

what are the chances AJ was baiting the entire league all season with the pitches he can't hit, a conditioning period, a long con, to trick the pitchers and scouts? And now he is reaping the benefits

That would be awesome.

It's two HR in three games, to be fair. But that would be awesome.

Greg Maddux would trick batters to look for certain pitches in certain situations, why not batters setting up certain assumptions?

If I was Matty or Fab Puig in the playoffs, I would inch forward in the batter's box about an inch and only swing at the stuff from my elbows out

4-0 is the perfect Dodger score

After 40+ years of watching the Dodgers, I expect a shutout every night. I know that's not possible but that is what I hope for every time. 4 runs take the pressure off finishing a shutout

In this scenario, it would be funny if AJEllis had baited everyone just so he could help smoke the Pod Rays after we've already clinched the division, instead of saving his powder for the post season.

So, good ballgame, eh?

Indeed. Both our favored team's hitting and pitching expertise outmatched our opponent's, resulting in a win being registered.

A fine analysis there, Dusty, old chap

@Dusty: how was the Turkish prison to which the dustettes took you yesterday?

@Sax

Luckily I was released on my own recognizance and we enjoyed several seasonal beers whilst enjoying the game on DVR.

Today, though, I'm watching live. liveLiveLIVE!!!
