Where Did Your Heart Go? Mine evaporated in the seventh inning, when Clayton Kershaw, cruising through six scoreless innings until then, somehow went off the rails and gave up three runs before getting an out. What was a 2-0 lead off the bat of Juan Uribe became a 3-2 deficit. Maybe that was Kershaw's way of challenging the offense (laden with Carl Crawford, Hanley Ramirez, and Adrian Gonzalez out of the starting lineup) to step up?
Unfortunately, it didn't. Hunter Pence added a solo shot for the bad guys, and even though the Dodgers had first and second with none out in the ninth, Yasiel Puig Kd, Nick Punto had a fielder's choice, and Adrian Gonzalez hit a shot that ricocheted off Sergio Romo's foot to third, for the third out at first base. Give A-Gon credit for trying to hit Romo. Oh, well.
In good news, however, the Rockies opened up a can of whupass on the Diamondbacks in Arizona, breaking a 2-2 tie into a 7-2 lead, and holding on for the 7-5 victory. This drops the Dodgers' magic number to 4. I mean, it wasn't Everything She Wants. But I'll take it.

Clayton hasn't been right for several starts now. I wonder if he is hurt and not telling anyone
then again, nobody has been playing as well as they did during our hot-ass hot streak.
Gotta keep pitching and finish this off with authority
gnite all
This game triggered my PTSD from last years elimination game.
Glad Ellis didnt fuck up on the basepath.
I feel responsible having allowed the triggering of the GT too early. My bad, Clayton. Sorry.
The game triggered my memory of chasing Coco Loco out of the Tonga Hut Bar in North Hollywood in 1992.
That night I defended Neeebs honor by challenging The 10,000 maniacs to a duel. Then I passed out and puked on Heidi Klum.
I only counted 8,458 maniacs.
I always crack up watching George Michael getting so pissed off during the bridge of Everything She Wants. Yeah, it's tough when your wife is just eating bon bons all day.
Especially when she's a beard.
Just got home. The fireworks were great, at least.
Sax was there!? When Puig was up and they mentioned his most hits in a month by a Dodger (passing Steve Sax) I thought of you guys!
Not much fireworks during the game, though.
