The Dodgers are all tied up in this three-game series with the Padres, going into tonight's rubber match; and, we face a pitcher with an equal W-L record, while throwing up (literally?) an (almost) equal W-L record pitcher of our own. Yep, it's all Even Stevens around these parts.
Except, just like Shia LaBeouf's career, a closer look shows that we're careening into our death spiral pretty quickly here. First, a walk off win (our second in a row) made us a serial killer. This gave way to a a series of maddeningly bad plays (in last night's game) which prolonged the agony. Wedged in between those bad plays was some pretty piss-poor veteran performances, I might add.
So will tonight be a final flop, still 4.5 GB the Giants with only 25 to go (Cardinals lost today, putting us 1.0 GB the WC going into tonight's game)? Well, I suppose it could be worse. But let's finish this homestand with a win, okay guys?
