Dodgers Not Getting Late-Inning Love

Two walkoff wins in the last three games might make one think the Dodgers are night owls, right? Well, maybe from the offensive side; from the mound, Jim Bowden of ESPN.com says we are pretty shaky. So much so, that he ranks our relievers sixth among seven NL contenders (link insider only):

6. Los Angeles Dodgers -- 7th inning: Brandon League, Shawn Tolleson | 8th inning: Randy Choate

The recent health issues of closer Kenley Jansen has pushed Ronald Belisario to the closer’s role. But even with that move the Dodgers remain solid in the late innings, thanks to GM Ned Colletti’s trade-deadline deals for Choate and League.

Giants are ranked fourth, with the Reds in first. At least we're not as bad as the Pirates, I suppose.

So, we're ranked low, but we're solid?

Got it.
