Clayton Kershaw (13-4, 2.68) vs. Ian Kennedy (13-3, 3.17).
The Giants, in first place, have lost three in a row. The Diamondbacks, a mere half-game out of first place, have also lost three in a row. The Dodgers are in position for a rare sweep. And everybody's starting their aces today: Kershaw against Kennedy in Arizona, while Tim Lincecum takes on the Phillies' Roy Oswalt. The Dodgers may not be able to play quality baseball, but win or lose, they can play the spoiler.

Do or do not, there is no try.
Velez? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Might as well have Mattingly play second.
Might as well let Loney play 2B.
Might as well let an empty glove play 2nd base.
Man, Joe Block is working his ass off to jinx the Dodgers.
Might as well jinx Joe Block.
Joe Block's thumbs have been functional since July 1978.
The Dodgers have been winning since the last time they lost.
Since the 7th inning of last night's game the Dodgers have the Major League best ERA and winning percentage.
The Dodgers have the best slugging percentage of the 2011 Dodgers.
with a Dodgers win today, the Dodgers will lead the NL West in sweeps since August 05, 2011.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
This marks the 113th game this season that a beer during a Dodger game was highly in order.
I cannot resist.
I just set up shop at a local bar with the MLB package. A small group of Phillies fans settled in behind me to watch the game against the Giants on the tv across the room. I'm conflicted, do I taunt them? Or do I join them and root against the Giants?
I like Vin's tie.
On a related note, I like Vin.
I like how they just list 0-16 in place of a batting average for Velez.
I do not like that they have to list Velez, however.
Kelly Johnson didn't he play for he bad news bears.
This is so bizarre. I was sure we'd lose the other two games and win this one.
This is not a good start, party people
On to the second inning, where the dodgers will bat
-- a .251 BA guy
-- a .201 BA guy
-- a .000 BA guy
That should strike fear in the hearts of the Diamondbacks.
Kelly Ripa can hit better than Velez.
Ian Kennedy badge.
Blerg.
@Spank
I'd hit Kelly Ripa.
If James Loney homers and no one comments about being surprised, did it actually happen?
I think we all died of shock. It's tough to comment while dead.
Thankfully, I recovered.
Velez: 0 for ever.
hey! I wake up from my nap, and we're winning!
And two of the three Dodgers badges are unlocked!
Shit, now we're losing again!
The Loney HR will not only be not mentioned on this GT, but also swept away and forgotten if we end up losing
Phils down 3-1 in the eighth
Sax, go back to sleep so we can start winning again.
With the Giants winning, Kershaw does the right thing and serves up a meatball.
What homer?
DBacks are 62-0 when leading after the last out of the ninth inning.
PGT up.
'nother Stella open.
(Josh S: thanks for all the PGT ideas you left in this GT!)
