At-Game Recap: Treading Water With The 'Stros (August 12)

As I confessed earlier, I missed Matt Kemp's extra-inning heroics in attending the Dodgers-Astros game on Friday last week. It wasn't that I thought I was going to hit traffic--believe me, there was no one there at the Stadium despite the fact there were post-game Friday Night Fireworks--rather, we had a sitter at home that I had to relieve.

But the highlights of the game were already taken in: seeing Nathan Eovaldi make his second major league start (a solid outing); seeing Justin Sellers make his major league debut (he went 0-for-3), and seeing SoSG's own Mr. Customer (whom I had met before) and Fred's Brim (whom I hadn't). Good times!

The circa-1980s walkman that my godmother uses while watching the game. This is so retro, it's sick (and I love how she has it in a cardboard tray)

You can't read this, but it basically has this inspiring factoid about Casey Blake: "Played his college ball at Wichita State University from 1993 to 1996, and was inducted into the Pizza Hut Shocker Hall of Fame in 2003". Hmm.

Oh, and the most important part! SoSGers at the Stadium (Josh S. got sick, and Dusty was nowhere to be found):
