Surprise, Indeed

Wait a minute, you mean to tell me there was a big free agent available this off-season, and we passed on him (at least, I'd like to imagine that we did), and as it turns out he might be injured? I thought those injuries only surfaced after the Dodgers signed said free agent!

Surprise, indeed, as Adrian Beltre enters spring training with a mild strain in his calf:

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has a mild strain of his right calf muscle and was not scheduled to run on Monday.

The plan is for Beltre to hit and take ground balls. Beltre complained about the calf after workouts in chilly conditions on Sunday.
