Spring Training Game Thread: @ Taiwan, 10p

Everybody (saw) Wang Sheng(-wei of the CPBL All-Stars score) tonight.

The Dodgers' schedule doesn't make it very easy to decode, but if I'm reading this correctly, we should be seeing a first pitch at sometime around 10pm PT.

Let's see if the Dodgers can put up more than three hits this time. Oh, and keep away from any injuries at the catcher position (are you listening, Lucas May?).

Ah shit, Dodgers mobile says the fame starts at 2a PT. Which would be 6p Taiwan time, I think. This is really f'd up.

Is this game on radio/TV/Game Day Audio or whatever medium? Or do I just refresh the box score?

Kyle Baker said...

No, you were correct originally Sax:

Starts at 1:00 AM ET -- in Taipei, Taiwan (2:00 pm on 3/13, local time)

Rain delay, apparently. Come on, hurry up - gotta get up early for the footy.

Thanks, Mr LA SF!

Too bad it hasn't started yet..,on the other hand, we aren't losing yet!

Josh S. said...

So, do we need to Taiwan on to get through this thread?

Kyle Baker said...

Way ahead of you, Josh.

Official Dodgerstweet:

"In a rain delay so Kuo and Hu are meeting with a group of Little Leaguers. A rare chance to meet their baseball heroes"

I assume it doesn't mean that Kuo and Hu's heroes are those Little Leaguers.

Wife and kid are asleep, so I'm trying out the demo of MLB2K10 on the PS3. (The Show 10 is downloading.)

MAN, do I suck. I haven't played a baseball video game since MLB2K5. I was Andy Pettite and gave up 6 runs, 5 hits, 4 WP, and 1 HBP (Plunked Ryan Howard.) in the first inning.

And then when I batted, three up three down. Ugh.

Kyle Baker said...

Whoa! You've got DKCIIDKS?! That one's rated bad for everyone!

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

I notice you're going with recent Simpsons references, Dusty. Very interesting...

But stupid.

Josh S. said...

Yeah, that one was a head-scratcher.

(And a paddlin'.)

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Aaaaaand here come the pretzels

Kyle Baker said...

Uh, sorry to be stupid, I guess.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Weather.com is definitely not encouraging.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

I can't stanz no more!

That's the news and I...am...outta here!

Goodnight, and good luck.

...and I'm out of references.

Kyle Baker said...

I think I'm out, too. Sorry I couldn't live up to your exacting standards for references, despite the clever tie-in in what was one of the best modern Simpsons episodes [Yokel Chords, JABF09, Mar 4 2007] where Bart is really digging a prized video game with a humorous name - much like "MLB2K5."

Josh S. said...

So, let's recap this trip:

-A loss.
-A canceled game.
-National hero Kuo scratched from his only appearance with elbow soreness.

WHAT A FANTASTIC IDEA THIS WAS.

Josh S. said...

That was me btw. I must have used my other login.

Steve Sax said...

But look at the upside! We've got one more extra game to play in Taiwan! We can still rack up additional injuries!
