- Via VSIMH comes the cover to this year's media guide.
- Bad news bears: Brian Akin of Dear (Tommy) John Letters has been released by the Dodgers. Always a pitcher, he puts a great spin on it: "I'm excited about missing baseball from home rather than missing my wife from the road."
- Andre Ethier is getting his number retired today — at his high school (St. Mary's in Phoenix, AZ). Rick Monday is emceeing the event and Tommy Lasorda will be giving a speech.
- We got a note from PlayOn, which promises to stream MLB.tv (and other online video) to your Xbox, PS3 or Wii. Anyone want to download the trial version and write a review? (They're holding a contest too.)
- Stop me if you're heard this before: Hong-Chih Kuo has a sore arm.

If anyone will spot me an Xbox, PS3, or Wii, I'll be happy to review.
Here's hoping for a Tivo plug-in for PlayOn.
that's too bad about Akin. I like his posts and the fact he was on the home team. I guess he's got more time now to keep it updated. I hope he catches on somewhere.
And i've been debating getting mlb.tv vs MLB Extra Innings. Relying on an internet connection to watch games was touch-and-go last year and it got a little frustrating. Extra innings will be about 100 bones more and i don't know if Mrs Fred's Brim will take kindly to me dominating the TV every night for the entire summer
I hear you, FB. THe issue with me is that I don't believe my cable company in my area offers Extry Innings, so this has to be the preferred method.
yeah I think I will go with .tv again, but this time spend the extra 20 biscuits to guarantee the home-team broadcast option. Do they ever offer an early-bird special?
Tommy Lasorda has/had a team named after him in Italy.
That's when you know you've hit the big time.

Bitchin' cartoon bats on that cover. They can hit 6-run home runs with those.
