Spring Training Game Thread: 12:05p vs. Rox

From Dodgers.com:

Hiroki Kuroda makes his first start of the spring for the Dodgers on Tuesday in a home game against Colorado. Fifth starter candidate Charlie Haeger also will pitch, and the Dodgers will take the wraps off three of their best relievers -- closer Jonathan Broxton, setup man George Sherrill and Hong-Chih Kuo. Kuroda ended last season with a herniated disk in his neck. Sherrill opened the spring with sore knees and was further slowed by taking a line drive off his right ankle last week.

Josh Suchon and Steve Lyons calling the game on At Bat.

Um, yay?

Hey hey, it is on prime ticket and I guess I will be talking with myself.

Down 2-0

Belli doesn't really look that fat to me - he is just as rotund as last year. Blake up

Dewitt that is...

Alex Cora said...

Looks a little cold out there today.

Alex Cora said...

Loney takes second on a wild pitch - nice heads up.

Alex Cora said...

What!?! Called strike 3 on Dewitt. Still down 2-0.

Alex Cora said...

Big John Broxton is out there in the 3rd inning to face some MLB hitters.

Alex Cora said...

Brox looking a little shaky.

Alex Cora said...

Uh - Dewitt, didn't handle that routine ground ball very well. Ugh... the position is slipping through his fingers...

Josh S. said...

Crowd sounds pro-Rockies.

Alex Cora said...

X MAN with the triple - he cranked that ball. Woohoo!

Alex Cora said...

Josh - doesn't look like too many of either dodger or rox fans.

Alex Cora said...

Fooky walks and Jamey Carroll eyes first...

Alex Cora said...

Nope - DP by Kemp. Grrr...

Alex Cora said...

Flat breezy in. Looking sharp early.

Alex Cora said...

guess not sharp enough - lead off double.

Alex Cora said...

Wow this is a sloppy ass Dodger game.

AC shouldering the load today.
Slow day at work, eh?

Steve Sax said...

Does AC even work?

Josh S. said...

Hefty amount of rust on the team. Good thing no one has to fly halfway around the world tomorrow.

Steve Sax said...

Brox didn't have a very good inning, and now Sherrill is following suit. Meanwhile, my ears are bleeding from Lyons/Suchon.

Josh S. said...

UGH.

Sherrill can't even get out of a ST inning?

Steve Sax said...

Oh, and my wallet appears to be missing.

Josh S. said...

Mics are hot during the breaks on At Bat. I'm dying for someone to say something inappropriate.

Steve Sax said...

6-0 Rox, and Sherrill can't even get out of his own inning. Yay.

Alex Cora said...

Nope AC is WATCHING this game - and no I don't work.

Alex Cora said...

Recession sucks for work, but great for Dodger games!

Alex Cora said...

Kuo is the MAN!

Disastrous spring = glorious summer?
My New Year's optimism is slowly fading.

So nice I posted it twice.
Thanks, Blogger!

Show 'em how it's done, Hunchy!

Arsenal go through to the Champions' League semis in convincing fashion.
5-0 to Porto.

Alex Cora said...

me likey likey Xman. Professional hitter.

Alex Cora said...

Me, no likey likey baserunning by Xman.

Josh S. said...

Picked off by a lefty?

Alex Cora said...

Yeah, was funny. They were "replaying" the pick off, but used the wrong clip and it was actually a pitch home. Lyons was saying "now watch this, it looks just like a pitch home - in fact it was a pitch home!" Spring training for the production staff too.

Alex Cora said...

Nice DP by JL

rbnlaw said...

Switching avi's mid stream?

Alex Cora said...

Yeah, forgot the vote is over.

Josh S. said...

New strategy: Stop hitting it to Seth Smith.

Josh S. said...

8-0 Rox.

One run would be nice.

Josh S. said...

Mercy rule?

Josh S. said...

Oh dear God, they're playing DSB at Camelback.

Steve Sax said...

Josh S.: "Hunchy". I like it.
