Dodgers/Giants Spring Training Game Thread (March 8, 2010)

Sure, it's only spring training. But with Chad Billingsley and Clayton Kershaw scheduled to start for the Dodgers, and the Giants' Tim Lincecum (pushed back from Sunday's rainout vs. Kansas City) trying to rebound from a confidence-crushing spring debut of 1 IP, 3 ER, 33-pitches, this promises to be interesting. Should the weather hold up, that is.

I think that's the b-game lineup.
Dodgertown Twitter had:

Furcal 6
Kemp 8
Ethier 9
Ramirez DH
Loney 3
Blake 5
DeWitt 4
Johnson 7
Ellis 2
Billingsley RHP

I love when DeWitt follows Blake in the lineup.

Correction: Yesterday's lineup, not the B-game lineup.

Oh, they didn't just roll over what they were going to do but got rained on? Interesting. Cause I also saw that Kershaw was scheduled to pitch. Maybe Bill starts then Kershaw?

Why the hell did we move to AZ if it was just going to rain all the damned time? Damned global climate warming change shizz.

Ah, from DOdgers website:

"Sunday's rain pushed back Clayton Kershaw's debut. The lefty will now follow Chad Billingsley against the Giants today"

I'm at work listening to Game Day Audio, multi-tasking, yelling at staff, and cheering on Blue while noting that Giants suck. Life is good, and returning to normal.

Chad still shaky. Bad communication with Ellis or evidence of a continuing problem?

Did the feed just die?

Kyle Baker said...

It did die for a few minutes but is now back on.

Bills: one run, three hits, two walks in two innings.

Shaky. Still, it's two innings in a ST game early in.

But still...

Casey out of the game already and Steiner thinks something's up.

Kyle Baker said...

Casey needs a few weeks off to rest that overworked hammy, probably.

Spring Training drinking game: Take a drink every time Steiner says "trying to hook on". It's a one-way ticket to alcohol poisoning.

Also, it's only the third ST game and I'm already tired if the KABC public service announcement guy.

Good idea, Josh. My work product may suffer, but it's a risk I'm willing to take.

Repko with a sliding catch. He'll probably need reconstructive surgery after that, out for two seasons.

Kershaw and Bills, each with 2.0 IP and 1 ER.

2-1 Gnats in the sixth.

Have we been told the reason why the Spring Training games on Prime Ticket aren't also on the radio?

The Monasterios era has begun with a strikeout. Where's Mr. LASF?

Belisario STILL hasn't shown up?

Sans-a-Beard was experiencing tightness in his side so as a precaution came out of the game. I'm not a doc, but: drink fluids, stretch folks.

Belly #2 trying to run off some of that belly. Out.

Dammit.

And the Giant fans react like they won the World Series.

Kyle Baker said...

@Josh

How would we know how Giants fans react when they win the World Series?

Steve Sax said...

The Giants are 5-1 this spring training. Clearly, they are going to be unbeatable this year. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

I am not a Doctor but grow back the beard Casey!!!! Your powers lie in the facial hair.

That beard is our last hope.

This is sounding more and more like a Giants blog every day. Someone should just start one already.
