Commander in Sheesh

Score one for Frank. From "Jamie McCourt was interested in public office, estranged husband says" by Bill Shaikin at the LA Times:

In a December 2008 e-mail, Dodgers executive Charles Steinberg presented [Jamie McCourt] with "Project Jamie," a seven-page action plan that included this line: "Goal: Be Elected President of the United States."

I don't even know where to start with this one. Credit Jamie for deflecting this latest embarrassing report ("That would be a nice goal, but this is Charles's memo," she said), but it's doubtful Steinberg was operating in a vacuum. (Or maybe he was. Lady Charles Macbeth? Vice President Steinberg?)

Jamie's political aspirations may be good for a yuk, but in the end this makes everyone involved look bad and makes us fans even more ashamed for the team. Can we start playing baseball already?

UPDATE 3/17 1:21a (Sax): LAT Dodger blogger Steve Dilbeck also wants to run for president, too. Guess it's a Jamie / Steve primary in California! Can't wait for the debates!

Another fine example of excess, ego, and delusions of grandeur. Unfortunately the Dodger payroll and fans have suffered in the process. You've got to admit watching this divorce unfold has provided some comic relief.
