CNN stretches, enters starting blocks for Shark Jumping

From CNN's homepage.

(And for the record, I kinda like American Idol.) I've gone on a one-man-war against what passes for news in this city. This time, however, I' m just ecstatic. For with every passing day, www.sonsofstevegarvey.com climbs up the list of legitimate media outlets. Our next hurdle: the Huffington Post.

You guys can totally take HufPo now that they can't crib Daily Show clips from Hulu anymore.

Lack of quality streaming content is their kryptonite.

It's not a one-man crusade. I'm with you. BTW: Check the NPR story (I heard it tonight on the way home) on the Annenberg study of local news content. Avg 30-min "news"cast has a whopping 22 seconds of content relating to local government and policy. Only 29 seconds for biz and economy. Rest split b/t sports, weather, and crime.

Keep the people stupid...

@dusty

Heaven forbid we miss a high speed chase or not see a composite sketch of a non-descript violent predator moving in down the street. At least one story about a heroic dog or child must also be shoe-horned in.

Indeed, little-boy-trapped-in-well stories are the lens through which we understand ourselves and our place in the community.

God knows we don't need to see stories on local government and local law enforcement agencies in order to better understand and in the future inform how we mutually agree to police ourselves and secure our safety. Instead, we need to see grieving friends and family and make-shift candle and stuffed toy memorials.

All I got on this subject.
